What do I tell my sister.......

I like the idea of a gift basket, and oyu can put one together very inexpensively sometimes, and it's a thoughtful gift.

Think of the bridal couple. What do they do? What do they like? Is there something that your sister and they did together frequently that could be made into a theme basket(ie-they always went to a Mexican place in college, so do a Mexican basket with margarita glasses, Margarita mix, some cute chili pepper dishtowels and pot holders, salsa, black bean dip...you get the idea).

Nothing says you have to bring a gift to the wedding...it can be given after the wedding. Does she know them well enough to get into their house and stock their fridge with some staples(milk, juice, bread, eggs, cheese), breakfast makings, snacks for when they return from the honeymoon?

don't forget the important rule.

You have a year to buy something.

I like the gift basket ideas.

Does she cook? If she does, I was thinking she could print up a nice "certificate" on the computer for "one homecooked meal" by her. This year, someone did that for BF's mom's birthday, and that was the best thing anyone did for her.

Or, maybe a gift certificate to a restaurant if this is a couple that already seems to have everything?

I have to say gift certificates to fun places like Yankee Candle, William Sonoma, Crate and Barrel, and Borders were my favorite wedding gifts :)
