Next April 17th I want to go on the 7 night magic cruise......Myself, Hubby and almost 7 year old daughter......we have never cruised before......what do we need to know......we would like cat 5 any rooms you recommend>>> It would also be 3 other families going...who should I book through etc>>> any info would be greatly appreciated.......:D

I would recomend buying the passporter, it has all the information that you want to know and didn't even think that you needed to know all in one place. You can buy it online at barnes and noble, amazon, passporter.com or almost anyother favorite online bookstore.

I would recomend booking through Dreams Unlimited. I personally have not so far booked with them, but I have heard wonderful things about them on the boards here. Plus they offer incentive credits also and watch for drops in prices instead of you having to do that. They are also very very knowledgable about DCL.

Also make sure you ask any questions at all that pop into your head on the boards, b/c someone here will know the answer!:D

I too would use Dreams Unlimited. We have used them in the past and we have been very happy with them. They are very helpful and quick to reply to questions you have. We have a current trip booked through them. On our last vacation they found a better deal on our package that ended up saving us about $600. They also do not charge anything for their service. They are paid by Disney.

I second the motion on the PassPorter, mine arrived Thursday in the mail and I read all 208 pages in two days, and found information that I didn't find out on the boards. It is great to have, and I plan on taking mine with me on our first cruise in August.

First of all get all the information you can about the ship and the staterooms. A cat. 5 is a great choice but do you really need a verandah? We love cruising in Cat. 5 but we have found that we didn't spend that much time in the room, so why pay for more than we need. You are looking to go in April which is a prime time to cruise meaning the rates will be higher than say mid Jan or Oct.. I would get quotes on the 4 staterooms from more than 1 TA. If you or someone in your group is a member of Costco, Sam's Club or AAA try them along with Dreams Unlimited, who sponsors this board.

I'm not sure about the Passporter everyone is recommending lately. I have heard great things about it also some not so great things. I would stick to the boards and ask all your questions directly to those who have cruised with Disney.

Also buy an over the door shoe organizer, you can buy them for a dollar at the dollar store. It is a must for the bathroom!

If you're thinking about a category 5 for the verandah consider category 6. Same room size & layout but one deck lower and a little bit less expensive.
