We leave in just 4 days!! Please help. I keep hearing that I shouldn't go to MK on a Monday or Saturday and that's when I'm scheduled to go. Look at my itinerary. Tell me what I can do to avoid the crowds at MK.
Fri, 8th: AK (picked this because we only want to do a half day at AK)
Sat, 9th: Epcot (heard epcot's good on weekends)
Sun, 10th: epcot
Mon, 11th: MK (also a mvmcp night)
Tues, 12th: mvmcp only and rest at resort (DD3 will get too tired to go to park during the day and only doing xmas stuff at mvmcp)
Wed, 13th: MGM w/ mama melrose package (can't change the package its sold out and can't switch with monday cause its EMH at MGM)
Thurs, 14th: DTD shopping and Cirque at 6pm
Fri, 15th: MGM (would change with MK, but its mvmcp night at MK and it should get crowded with the locals)
Sat, 16th: MK ( must go to mk on my last day and have CRT dinner ADR which I can't change)

I'm going with DD3 and DH. I'm mostly concerned with changing my Monday at MK. Please give me suggestions. Do you think I should leave it the way it is?

I have to be honest here... I've read and reread the "what parks on what days" things and I've tried to follow them and found they do not work for us. My advice to you is, if you have a hopper pass use it. If you get to a park and it's crowded, change parks. That's the beauty of a hopper pass! :) Also, at this time of year I dont' think the crowds are going to be bad so even the parks you should avoid on certain days will still be do-able.

Don't stress... it's a VACATION! ENJOY!!!!! :sunny:

I would swap mk for a day that isn't mvmcp unless you have tickets to that. Spectro is only on weekends. Crowds won't be much of a problem though. We never miss early entry Thursdays because you can see all of fantasyland with no lines at all.

Do you really need two days at EPCOT? I think you could mannage EPCOT in just one day.

Sorry to disagree Orlando Mike but we are spending 3 days at epcot during Christmas because of the processional and Christmas storytellers in all the countries and the beautiful decorations.

We almost always go during peak times. The only thing I avoid is parks on the days they have evening hours EMH. I found the most important thing is to get to the parks before they open. Use parade/firework times to go on rides with long lines if you haven't been able to get on them earlier in the day. Always have a fastpass on you.

I would make Monday the resort day and spend Tues at MK instead. It should be a little better on a Tuesday.

We would suggest longer at AK. My family never spent more than half a day there in years, but this time we were there all day and into EMH time. With Expedition Everest (multiple times), and the Nemo show we barely had enought time to do everything else. Maybe if you have enough days of tickets you could do AK prior to the MVMCP.

Otherwise, just go with the flow. Inevitably there will be a dya that is raining or someone will not feel well and a prefect schedule will be down the tubes. I hope not, but that is usually how it is for us!

We will be there during the same week. This will be our 4th trip during the second week of December.

I also have 2 days planned at Epcot, although not 2 in a row. I think Epcot needs more than a day, too. We could even do 3 days there, no problem.

We never do more than one day at MGM, as that is enough for our family. I am not sure there is enough there to keep your 3 year old happy for 2 full days.....but that's just me! There might be a lot there that you like and that you want to repeat a few times.

We are planning 1.5 days at AK this time, since we usually neglect that park and have never seen the parade. There's a lot we haven't seen there.

I have MK planned for Sunday, Tues. at MVMCP only, and Friday. Because we have SO much time planned there (as do you, it seems), I am not overly concerned with being there on a weekend day, or a day that *might* be more crowded. We'll have plenty of time to see and do what we want. I am also not as concerned with local residents being there on Friday, since they most likely won't show until the MVMCP after work, and we're not doing the party that night.

In any event.....it's not that crowded the second week of December. It's different than trying to fit everything in during spring break, the summer months, or the week between Christmas and New Years. Don't worry too much, you'll be fine with the schedule you have. Enjoy!

All I can say is we went from 11/--11/6... the parks were fantastic, near empty all week. We went to MK on Saturday and it was packed. We got there before opening and the crowd waiting was 10 times as big as the other parks at opening. It got worse from there. It worked out in our schedule to go that day but I wouldnt again unless it was an MK emergency.

The big thing is not to plan to do everything at the MK on a really crowded day. Plan to get to the park at opening and head for the most important rides on your list then/. You have 2 mornings so you can do Fanstasyland on one of them and either Tommorowland or Adventureland on the other. You can get a large portion of the rides done in 2 or 3 hours if you get there at opening and don't worry about riding things more than once. Enjoy the shows in the early afternoons and then take a break at your hotel. You have plenty of time so don't try do all of the park in one day. The only time you should ever attempt that is when you can't get in a second day and even then it is better to choose the important things to you and not try for everything.

I like it,except I dont know about doing Epcot on Saturday andSunday unless you plan to do like half the park and then do the other half the enxt day or something, lol.

Imj.w but what is an ADR?Thanks lol
Also have a magical vacation!

My first suggestion is to take me with you! My second suggestion is be flexible. My third is have a great time, don't worry so much, you'll be at Disney World!

I agree with many of the others (especially photobob), but the only suggestion I would make (if you want to change it) is to swap Sunday and Monday. I agree that you need 2 days to properly do Epcot, and if you don't have park hoppers that's best. I personally do Park Hopper and do a half-day to start Epcot and swap to MGM (mainly b/c my dd doesn't much like MGM - too old for Playhouse Disney and too young for the R&R Coaster and ToT). Then a full day and a half besides for Epcot, however many of my friends don't do much time in Epcot b/c their kids are bored. It depends on your child - thus the reason for the hopping. ANYWAY, I would consider swapping, mainly b/c of the party at MK on Monday night and to avoid MK on Monday period. Sunday is one of the big days for Epcot, too.

But for the week you've chosen, you're probably okay anyway as you are. Have a wonderful time. I'm very jealous.

You are all very helpful. Thank you. I don't have park hopper and I already have my mvmcp tickets and cirque tickets so I can't change those dates. I'm thinking about doing MGM on Sunday, Epcot on Monday and MK on Friday until about 4pm when the mvmcp guests and locals come around. What do you think?
