What Do Carry At All Times?

I am planning a solo trip in late August, and I am curious as to what everyone keeps with them at all times? I am planning on bringing a backpack, since my housing isn't close enough to walk to during the day. With the backpack, I want to bring a light weight sweater, snacks, probably flip flops to wear on water rides, etc. When I visited WDW in December for the first time, BF and I carried the backpack at all times. However, this did become a nuisance for some rides, and frankly became heavy. My sister recommended getting a locker, and then having a smaller purse to keep with me at all times. I think this is an awesome idea, especially since DLR is smaller than WDW, so I could easily get back to the locker when needed.

So I'm curious what people carry with them at all times? Not the obvious like wallet, phone, camera, chap stick, but anything else? I'm going by myself, so thankfully I won't have kiddos that I have to carry things for as well ;)

Thanks!

I would add Tylenol (I get headaches at the parks sometimes) and a small hand sanitizer to your list.

In my locker bag: Second pair of shoes. 3-4 bottles of water (can't stand the tap/filtered water there). Moleskin. Tylenol/advil/Prilosec/prescription meds. Sweatshirt and/or coat depending on weather/temps. Water-spray fan depending on temps. Cooling towel depending on temps. Money for pressed pennies (I will go to the locker when I'm ready to do pressed pennies, and get it then; otherwise, I keep a few quarters and pennies, but not my large roll, on my person). External phone charger (RavPower, I think mine is called). USB cord for charger. Mini tripod for my camera. Chapstick. Sun lotion.

On my person: Entrance media. Phone. Camera. Fast passes. A few quarters/pennies for pressed penny machines. A bottle of water. The end.

You could tie your sweatshirt around your waist. I have a small sinch sports backpack by Nike (other brands make them too). They are really lightweight and would carry a pair of flip flops, wallet, chapstick, snacks and still be pretty light. It's easy to swing on and off for rides.

I keep a snack-size Ziploc in my travel purse and it contains a few Ibuprofen, 2 band-aids and a bit of wool (to prevent toes from blistering), antacids, and 2 disposable dental picks. I swear, nothing is as aggravating as a bit of beef or popcorn hull in the back molars. My purse also holds sunblock lipbalm, sunglasses, phone, travel wallet.

I always carry a couple of bandaids and safety pins.. It can be a long walk to the First Aid station if you need a bandaid.

I take a mini backpack, and in it I usually have: light sweater/hoodie, hydro flask water bottle, Propel powder packets (I don't like the taste of fountain water), Tylenol, portable cell phone charger, band aids, small pack of baby wipes, plus the essentials like wallet, phone, etc.

Such a good idea! I also like doing penny presses, and those quarters definitely added to the large weight of the backpack. I was thinking of having penny presses be my afternoon activity, once line queues start to get long. Great idea to keep most of them in the locker!

Thanks for the advice! It's the little, but important things I probably would have forgotten.

Propel powder packets (I don't like the taste of fountain water), Tylenol, portable cell phone charger

Definitely adding these to the list!

Thanks everyone for your input! It's interesting to see what others bring, super helpful too!

We always carry protein bars, ziploc bags to protect phones on water rides, bandaids, Purell or wipes, ear plugs, and tissues.

First Aid has ibuprofen and tylenol for free, FYI. They also make fabulous ice packs that help with my long-day-in-parks headaches better and faster than any pill.

DS and I are going in a few days and we'll likely bring the Igloo MaxCold bag with waters in it, sunscreen, protein bars. I like earplugs because things get really overwhelmingly loud sometimes. Phone charger and cord.

I still wear a lanyard (Ravenclaw) with a larger hard plastic Witz brand "pouch", and I carry my ID and insurance card, AP (which will expire a week after our trip), a CC, and some cash. Oh and my hotel room keycard.

We carry a backback in which i put at least one refilable water bottle, granola bars, fruit gummies. ive done pbj before too and capri sun just one or two. Also sunblock, wipes,a mini first aid kit because my daughter will forever need a band-aid for something when we go to disneyland lol and when we go into the park we usually have on a very thin sweater or jacket and throw that in the backpack once it gets hot. DH carrys that and i carry my crossbody bag with just phone, tickets, chapstick, aspirin, cash, id, and debit card.

I try to not pack too much because i don't want it too be too heavy. It seems like every year i pack less and less. Either because i take note from previous visits what we really didn't need or because most of the things we carry are due to my DD and as she gets older we need less things

I usually have a gallon size zip lock bag to protect cell phones and wallets. We all use it when going on a water ride.

omg thank you for writing that because thats what ido and we have all our things basically packed but i knew i was forgetting something. ziplocks are a life saver especially on grizzly and splash

I always carry a sweater, Carmex, socks, videocamera, and hand sanitzer. In my old WDW days, I'd also carry ponchos, but SoCal doesn't get real rain very often.

I always take my backpack when I visit the parks with a battery charger for my phone, water bottle, hat, hand sanitizer, and usually a few small snacks like granola bar. If I plan on staying into the evening hours I might add a light jacket to my pack.

You are so very welcome! I pack them in different sizes as we use them for everything.:flower1:

On me at all times - park ticket, a credit card, driver's license, health insurance card, lip balm, phone, camera (only on some days), a tiny plastic bag with ibuprofen and dental floss, a mini-tube of sunscreen, and now - a tiny pair of reading glasses. These fit in pockets for me - though sometimes I wear a fanny pack or a cross-body bag. Those backpacks with string straps rip up my skin. I carry a disposable bottle of water.

I do sometimes rent a locker if I am going to need more clothing when it gets dark (so depends on the time of year and if I am going to need PANTS). So - if I bring this - it's got clothes, probably a fresh water bottle or two, maybe a few other things if I am planning to be gone ALL day. Sometimes I'll change shoes when I'm putting on more clothes for the evening.

To avoid the wet feet/shoes - I stay off of the big water ride entirely. Occasionally I'll ride Splash Mountain - but usually on a day I wear sandals vs. my sneakers. It's too much work to PLAN to go to a locker to change shoes just for a ride or two, IMO.

a small backpack or purse is it.... I don't carry a lot- for nice weather, maybe a light sweater, lip balm, wallet, phone, a ziploc or two for rain or whatever, some advil/allergy pills in a ziploc, along with a couple of bandaids...maybe some thin socks to put on later if needed.... I just drink whatever water is free and available.... maybe some healthy snacks tossed in just in case(like almonds)

If I have a lot of stuff (extra clothes) I use a locker. I usually carry a very small cross body Dooney that has my ticket, cash, driver's license, tissue, lip balm, and a credit card.
