What Disney Restaurant Would You NOT want to go again and why?

Rosie's All American Cafe, it was for a quick lunch but the entire area was littered with ketchup packets and trash. :( We waited about 10 minutes for our food, which if it was anywhere but a counter service I wouldn't care that much. And our fries were not very warm. :(

We also went to Rainforest Cafe in DTD. Not the best meal, wish we would have tried somewhere else.

And the second place I will be hard-pressed to go to is that Mexican restaurant: San Angel Inn. That place makes me laugh out loud!

OK, it's absolutely beautiful in there, and that is also a problem. As a diner, you feel like you're eating dinner as a monkey in the zoo. People, under the auspices of taking in the views, are naturally curious about the cuisine in this beautiful restaurant. Therefore, people stand there and WATCH YOU EAT!

Plus, you may even be seated at the dungeon of this establishment: by the bathrooms! LOL!:scared1: When we were there, I had to go to the restroom, and when I got near to it, there were a few guys who were giving me the "Evil eye." I paid it no attention at first, but on my way back, I realized why they were giving me the "evil eye." Just by taking the path to use the restroom, you were interrupting their dinner!:lmao: Also, they had zero view of the volcano, and the light of the restroom shined hard in their face everytime someone opened the bathroom door!

:rotfl: Okay, now that I've finally quit laughing, I really have to agree! San Angel is beautiful, but it is so crowded that people are constantly bumping into your chair, the service is terrible (if I was trying to walk sideways in between tables with an armful of food all day I'd be grumpy too) and the food was just okay (although the ceviche was excellent).

On the other hand, feel the need to defend PrimeTime Cafe -- we loved the food and 'mom' created a great memory for us while we were dining there. She decided I hadn't eaten enough veggies so she grabbed my fork, scooped up some veggies and did the airplane into the hanger bit we all did with our children when they were toddlers. My daughter laughed so hard she cried!

Chef Mickey's. Having one on one time with Mickey is the only reason to stomach such lousy cuisine.

I'm shocked that some said they went away from O'hana hungry? Are you serious? I'm always so stuffed from there I can barely walk. All I want to do is just lay down somewhere.

But if you were there right at closing, maybe one of the last parties in the door, at that time , you may not get a lot of refills on food. As they are shutting things down. I was there at close once, but there was only two of us eating, so we didn't really notice not getting more food. I can understand if you have a big group.

Next time you go there ask for Ed he's a great server and a good friend of mine. He's been working for Disney for around 15 years now.

In the past, I've said I wouldn't return to Trail's End, Ohana, or Boma.

I didn't enjoy the food at TE @ Dinner. I grew up on country cooking & this didn't compare to mom's. ;) Seriously, I usually stay away from country cooking for this reason. FWIW, TE's breakfast is fine.

Ohana was too loud & chaotic for me, & we left hungry. I know it's all you can eat, but they weren't very forthcoming with refills for our larger party.

Boma was a huge disappointment. We went expecting authentic African fare & found American far w/ a twist on a few items.

That all said, now that it's been awhile since eating at any of these, I find myself thinking our experience couldn't have been that bad. As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder. That works for the stomach too.

When/if we return to Boma or Ohana, it will most likely be for breakfast. We would only return to TE for dinner, if we were staying in the cabins & were too lazy to go anywhere else.

California Grill :sad1:

it took us ages to get a reservation there and that was on the last night of our holiday.
think reservation was about 7, ok id expect it to be busy but the waits were dreadful. when we finally had our order taken, were told if we didnt order dessert then wouldnt be allowed it as some of the items took a while too cook.
who decides on dessert before theyve eaten anything?
im not fussy with food but didnt think much to the choice. mind you by the time the food came, which was after wishes!
we stayed because the view of Wishes was meant to be amazing, but i didnt think the view was good and to watch them in silence was weird.
the food seemed average, there were many complaints that night. im not a complainer though, used to work in a restaurant so know what staff put up with.
we just felt that due to this experience the holiday ended on a low :sad2:

next time id like to end with wishes, perhaps have an early dinner somewhere-chef mickeys?! go home with that Disney buzz.x :cool1:

As I noted, they weren't generous with refills. There was 8 in our party, & we finally gave up & left. It was like they didn't want any food wasted, so they brought out a little at a time. That would have worked fine for a party of 2, but wasn't sufficient for a larger party. It wasn't the best food we'd ever eaten, so it wasn't worth waiting for a few bites at a time. The small portions we received as refills were really ridiculous.
