Since im on a budget, and my party want to go to see the Harry Potter thing! I want to know what park I can miss to go to Universal, i know this is horrible haha but if u guys could help i would aprreciate it!!

21 days!!:cheer2:

NONE!!! :woohoo::scared1::rolleyes1

Sorry I'm not much help...but I just can't see the value in going to Universal for a one day. When you've already got a multi day Disney Park Pass and a single day at Universal would cost almost as much it just doesn't make sense to me...but then again I can never get everything done in 10days at Disney!!!

In a way I agree with the PP,that a one day ticket at Universal would be so much more than just adding a day at Disney, however I would definitely rather go to either Universal park than Animal Kingdom,so that would be my choice to skip.In a perfect scenario I would plan at least two days at Universal to at least get both parks in.

I guess it would depend on who's in your group, and what they are into. Hollywood studios is more shows than rides, so I would personally skip hs. I would talk to your group though and see what interests them more =) You can go on the disney website and it'll show you all the attractions for each individual park with descriptions, should make your decision making a little easier =)

From a strictly economics point of view I would not skip any parks in order to visit Universal. Shortening a visit to WDW by one day will not save you very much money, compared to the cost of a one or 2 day Universal ticket (plus the cost of transportation and parking).

We had thought of staying an extra day or two to go to UA/IOA, but changed our minds once we had a good look at how much it would cost.

Universal/IOA is great, with more/better thrill rides than WDW IMO. If I had to skip a WDW park to go there, it would be AK since we usually finish AK early. Or HS because it is most similar to Universal, with the movie/hollywood theme and shows.

If I had to skip one it'd be DHS... just an extra Studio I guess.

I'd definitely give up Animal Kingdom to visit Universal! Especially if you've got Harry Potter fans...make it happen! Universal/IOA is worth a visit IMO!! Happy Planning!

I'm another in the "none" camp but if forced, AK.

My wife and I are HUGE Harry Potter fans as well as Disney fans and we were a bit disappointed with Universal. Universal has some amazing thrill rides BUT falls utterly flat in the art of theming (I'm fairly sure there are seasons other than the so utterly out of place winter that happen in Hogsmeade) and the differences between WDW Cast Members and Universal's...whatever they call their disinterested employees is jarring.

Still, as a Harry Potter fan, the best advice I can give you is to be there when it opens and get kids into Ollivanders ASAP and if no children, get in line for the Journey ride or be prepared to wait for a couple of hours. Lastly, butterbeer...it's every bit as good as you've been told.

Thanks for the replies!!! I think I may not miss any Disney park haha!!!

Decisions...decisions...:confused3

I would skip HS or AK, but I agree with the prior posters that say it is expensive to spend one day at US/IOA. On our last trip, we opted to just to US/IOA and not go into Disney parks. We really missed Disney though, and went to DTD and the Boardwalk on 2 different nights.

I'd skip DHS for sure. Thats my least fave park. Harry Potter is pretty neat, but thats the only thing I like about Universal/IOA. Its definitely worth checking out if you have not been there yet. Its amazing!!!

I would skip AK, we are only getting to stay for 5 days on our next rip and we like to use two days a MK ( we have small kids) so we will be skipping AK this year.

Skip DHS, IMO. It's "most" like Universal.

Yes - it's quite expensive to do one day to go see HP - but if you are a fan - you gotta go. Read those threads to get the most out of the day!

I'd skip DHS. It's my least favorite park.

Remember, though, that you wouldn't be going to Universal Studios (unless you bought the Universal version of a park hopper), you'd be going to Universal Islands of Adventure.

I like DHS, and it would pain me to skip it, but I had way more fun at IOA. In addition to seeing the WWOHP (which I consider a must for HP fans), I loved the Jurassic Park section, the splash rides and the thrill rides.
