What dining places for a 12 year old?

What are some really cool dining places/must do for a family with a 12 year old girl to eat at on Disney resort areas or in the parks? And, I'm wondering if she's too old for a character breakfast, she'll probably be if I took her to one. Any suggestions?

my dd (12) and ds (12) love to eat at character breakfasts, even though sometimes dd thinks shes too cool! They both still ask me to make ressies for Chef Mickeys and Ohana's character meals. As well as Ohana and Sci Fi for dinner. They still fight over who is sitting in the drivers seat at Sci Fi. They loved Boma at AKL (even though dd is very picky and would only try the things that she was familiar with) and they also love Whispering Canyon, they sit and laugh at all the craziness there. Another favorite for them that is a must do is Le Cellier, even though they are 12, they both feel the need to get the "northern lights" drink with the glowing ice cubes! Hope this is helpful!

Even though you may think she is too old for a character meal, I bet she would love them.

But....if not. I say try Ohana or Whispering Canyon (especially if she will ask for catsup).

sci-fi and whispering canyon are my ds, 12, faves. And we are doing 3 character breakfasts this trip (his 12th b-day trip): chef mickey's, donald's breakfastaurus, and crystal palace.

My DS 12 requested for our upcoming September trip: Sci-Fi Dine In and Rainforest Cafe. We are also planning on the Akershus breakfast (which he agreed to...probably wants to check out the pretty princesses, lol).

I think a character meal would be a great idea! 1900 Park Fair at the GF might be a good choice! The elegant, Victorian ambience at the GF might appeal to her! Also, the Sci Fi, Ohanas, RFC, 50's PT, Boma, and CRT for dinner might be good choices! Happy planning!

Have her check out the sticky at the top of this board that has pictures of the food. Let her choose a place she thinks is cool. You may be surprised at what she would want to do.

are on the list for DS13 & I in August

thanks, those are great ideas. We booked so far Chef Mickey's, and looking at a few of those others!
