What did you seriously love as a child?

The library. I would check out a big stack of books and read them one after the other, and then bring them back and check out the next batch. I was on a first name basis with all of the staff at the library.

I lived in a really small town so my mom had to drive me into the bigger town nearby to go to the library. I’m not sure if all of that back and forth convinced my mom that our town needed it’s own library but she helped found the library in my hometown, and served as the library board president for many decades. I’m super proud that they went from renting a really small space to having their own building without asking for more tax dollars. The board applied for many grants, and set aside fund for a number of years to get the library built.
Me, too. The school library was my safe, happy place. A friend recently posted an old picture of a couple of us sitting at one of the tables (probably from 1985-86ish). I was surprised at the strong emotions and memories it brought back, all of them happy.

Burgers - particularly McDonald's but also the ones my grandmother would make, Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pies, riding my bike, the video arcade and my Atari, Transformers, and my Superman pajamas.

LD Oatmeal Cream Pies were a staple! I don't eat them anymore, though I believe the recipe has changed since the 80's.

Edit:
Woah, even the logo illustration of little Debbie McKee has changed...

I haven't had one in forever! My great grandfateher used to always have them on hand and just referred to them as "cookies" for some reason. We would have a variety of LD snacks around, depending on what kind I wanted at the time. I definitely had a penchant for Star Crunch, but also Strawberry Shortcake Rolls, Zebra Cakes, and Chocolate Chip Creme Cakes too.

And now you have me looking at the Little Debbie website and wanting to go to the grocery store!

The Monkees and The Brady Bunch. My sister and I could quote these shows by heart and knew within the first few seconds of the shows coming on which episode it was.

1. Reading anywhere and everywhere (I still have at least 1 book in my purse, an ebook on my phone, my kindle in my bag and a book in the car!! LOL!!)

2. Going to the library and now I still visit ones while we are out of town and out of the country as well. I can't help it, I am a true bibliophile!

The theater. I would have lived there if I could...and practically did, often rehearsing one show while performing another and doing my homework in the wings or the Green Room. I was blessed to have three high-quality community theaters (one international award winning) within 30 minutes of my house and a father who was also a theater junkie. My favorite time was always tech week, affectionately referred to as hell week, when we'd be there into the wee hours every night. I even skipped both junior and senior and prom because I was doing shows, and it wasn't even a hard decision.
