I haven’t seen a thread for this yet. So, what was your favorite gift? If you don’t celebrate with gifts, tell me about your favorite memory from this year instead!

For me, my favorite gift was having all 3 of our kids at the house for the afternoon. We’re a blended family, and the kids are 20, 19, 18 at the moment. Two are in college, and one just finished high school in December and will go to college in the fall as well. Trying to round up all 3 of them at the same time nowadays is like herding cats!

As for physical gifts, I’d say my favorite is my new purse, which DH game me money for and I purchased myself this past week. We told the kids not to give us anything, but they still all piled up some $ together and gave us a Door Dash gift card, since we don’t go to restaurants much since Covid.

My least favorite was the new washing machine I had to order on Christmas night as mine died on Christmas Day. Thankfully I was able to get an in-stock Machine delivered on 12/27. It’s really nice, just not what I wanted to do at this time of year!

:cloud9:Wow! Best present ever - my DSister gave me a trip to Toronto with tickets to see the Raptors play the LA Lakers in March. Sadly, since she made the arrangements, the Ontario government has sharply curtailed attendance at public events due to Covid so both the Raptors and the Maple Leafs have canceled their single-purchase ticket sales and are only admitting season-ticket holders by lottery. The Raptor's 19,000 seat venue is only permitted 1,000 fans in attendance at the moment. :( Things change on a dime and I've got my fingers crossed for March but it's really up in the air whether or not I'll end up going.

My DH usually isn't a very good gift giver, but he did pretty good this year. He got me a Yeti tote bag that I can use to take my stuff to/from school each day and then will be fantastic when we are at the beach because it is waterproof. He also got me a bunch of different bath products and lotions from Sephora.

I bought a few things before Christmas. Told my husband I really didn’t need anything. We buy during the year so we both say don’t worry about it.

I bought a Santa I liked , a Mickey Christmas mat that was blue and matched my bedroom and I collected bears everything so I bought the Walmart Bear that is in the commercials. My daughter loves this bear too and she is 21…lol she had a New Years hat on it’s head last night and I will see her watching tv hugging it. It melts my heart just to have her home and hugging all over me!

Good luck! :goodvibes

I got Alice Cooper Tickets for Christmas. They’re for March. Probably a no-go at this point.

Santa brought me the expensive socks I wanted from the running store. DS got his dad a super soft bathrobe. Santa brought DS a robot dog and a tshirt from his favorite YouTuber.

I'm not sure what I like best. I am enjoying eating the dark chocolate peppermint bark my sister got me and putting together the LEGO bookstore DH got me while our family is under COVID quarentine.

We spent Christmas Eve and Day with our whole little family of 7.
Material gift.....Ninji Foodi grill. Haven't used it yet.
DGS gave me a 2 pound container of cookie sprinkles :rotfl:
DGD got me a beautiful necklace with a woman and little girl together 😄

Older DD got me a pin from Disneyland with the Castle and Mickey on it. Younger DD got me Minnie and Mickey salt and pepper shakers and DS got me a kit for resin that has crystal, earring and bangle molds. DH and I don’t really exchange, we just each pick something nice at the beginning of the year.

My favorite thing was DD coming home for a few days the week before Christmas. Just having her around was the best gift ever. We did a weeks worth of Christmas activities in one day. Decorated the tree, made cookies, did crafts, played board games, watched Christmas movies, had our traditional Christmas dinner and opened some gifts.

DH and I got a Ninja coffee bar from all 3 of the kids. Had 2 of the 3 home for the holidays (one still lives at home, but that counts, right? and the other brought her spouse and her son).

I got a box of Godiva chocolates and a box of scrunchies from TBRG. I also got a best grandma magnet from DGS#2 (he bought it at the little school shop all on his own). From DD#2, a couple of magnets from Okinawa/Osaka Castle; a nice set of chopsticks; 3 ornaments and a wind chime from various places in Japan; all of those were pretty great!

DH and I didn't exchange gifts, as we are moving at the end of this month, and decided to put the money aside for it instead. He was going to get a new bass guitar, as his gift from me, but the one he really wants is still out of stock from the place he likes to buy from; so he will wait until they get it in or he finds one he likes better. I was going to go with him to his company's annual 'kickoff', and we were going to stay in Orlando or someplace for that weekend, but his company cancelled it and went to a virtual kickoff (again), so that saved some more money for moving, lol.

Well, the best gift was not having any house guests for the third year in a row. It was blissful. I never want house guests on Christmas Day ever again.

The best tangible gift were some platinum ball stud earrings my husband gave me. I've been wanting some basic ball stud earrings for awhile and he got me some that will last forever.

The best gift was having my kids together for the first time in 4 years based on deployments.

It was great to have them all in the house with significant others coming and going!
They also did a great job of giving gifts that were from their travels the past couple of years. So thoughtful! 🥰

I got a 4 wheeled garden cart and a small chain saw that attaches to an extendable arm, so you can use it to trim tree branches way up high.
