I've read lots of info on the dress code, but dress codes are so broad sometimes.

Could anybody please help me out by telling me what they actually wore:

  • To Palo
  • To the other restaurants

Or pictures of course! I'm so worried about being over/underdressed.

This is my experience from last weeks West Coast cruise. To Palo at brunch I wore a camisole top and matching skirt, tropical print and my husband wore a dress shirt, pants amd jacket. Not one other man had on a dress shirt or jacket, most had on knit polo type shirts and Docker type pants and a few had on Tommy Bahama type shirts. So my husband was overdressed so he just put his jacket on the back of his chair and he was fine. Most women had on skirts and tops. Dress like you are going to a brunch on Sunday at a hotel.

Palo at dinner I wore a black skirt and top and my husband wore a dress shirt, tie, jackets and pants. Everyone was dressed about the same. Some women had on dresses but everyone was "dressed up".

I would say brunch is a bit more casual than dinner. They do come around and take your picture at dinner so it makes for a nice picture.

I think loose fitting, waistless dresses would be the way to go!!LOL They feed you sooooo much at Palo. The food is very good and at bruch you have tables of food to choose from - buffet style - then you order meals on top of that - it is a feeding frenzy!!

Hello...

This is a good topic...

On the Formal/Semi Formal and Palo nights I wore a suit and Tie..

Hope this helps..

Regular restaurants, casual nights--a summer dress or skirt and top. Then there is my standard black pants with pretty tops. Formal/semi nights--beaded jacket over sheath type long dress, slinky formal.

Palo tea and brunch--pretty summer type dress.

Really, you can't be overdressed at Palo or for formal nights.

Remember that this is Disney. You will see people dressed to the hilt. Guys will be in suits, military uniforms, tux. Other people will choose not to participate and will be in casual cruise wear type clothes. DCL really doesn't do much to enforce the dress code except in Palo. You won't get in there in jeans!

I wore cocktail dresses (black, beaded, knee length) for formal night, DH suit.
Other nights he wore tropical shirrs & khakis, I wore less dressy cocktail dresses--I so rarely get to dress up at home!
Plan on same for Disney...wondering, though, if boys can get away w/ tropical shirts even on formal night...we don't have jackets or dress shirts for them! Plus I have found several cute trop shirts, some matching!

You asked for pictures, so here are some of ours.

This is one of the formal nights at Lumiere's:

On casual nights, I let DSs' wear their favorite t-shirts, as long as they had a nice button-down shirt and Dockers along with them! On formal nights they wore suits with jackets and ties. :groom:

Hope this gives you an idea. :)

To the regular restaurants I wore a skirt or capri pants. DH wore khaki pants and a polo shirt. The grils wore knit dresses.

On formal night I wore a gown and DH a tux, the girls wore their princess dresses.

On semi-formal night I wore a summer dress, DH wore a dark suit and I wore a dress, that was the same night we went to Palo (we double-dipped).

At Palo brunch I wore a summer dress and DH wore a shirt and tie.

I did not feel over or under dressed (except the first two nights when we didn't have our luggage and DH wore jeans to dinner - I happened to have a skirt which I wore both nights).

At Palo for bunch I wore nice dressy capris (white w/black stripes), black camisole and dressy poncho...DH wore dress shirt (no tie) and black slacks.

At Palo for Dinner I wore a silk dress, something I'd wear to a wedding or very nice dinner out...DH wore a suit and tie.

At Palo for High Tea I wore a summer skirt, camisole and a cute tie at the waist sweater..DH wore Tropical Mickey shirt and khakis.

On Formal Night the entire family dressed up.. Black party dress for me, Suit for DH and party dresses for DD13 & 16

On Pirate Night we all wore some version of Pirate outfits. DH & in full costumes, DD13 & 16 in Pirate Shirts w/jean skirts and pirate bandanas.

Our first dinner was casual but since it was Lumiere's we all dressed up a bit more (it's a nicer atmosphere than the other restaurants) Summer dresses, ponchos, heels and DH wore black cords and button down lg sleeve shirt.

The other casual night we (DDs 13 & 16 & I) all wore some sort of jeans or jean capris. We are talking nicer jeans w/ heels and nice tops. Not jeans you'd wear hanging out around the house. DH wore tropical shirt and Khakis.

But please don't worry so much about what you wear...I didn't notice what others were really wearing to dinner I was having way too much fun with my own family to care!

To Palo's I normally wear a really nice dress or semi formal dress.
Other restaruants I wear capris or skirts.

Since you are going on a 3 or 4 day I did not include the formal night.

First of all - I packed way to many clothes. You live in your bathing suit and a cover-up during the day.

Palo Brunch - pant suit
Palo Dinner - Dressy dress
Formal Nite - Long black beaded gown
Tropical/Pirate nite - Hawiian print sun dress
Other nites - capris and a nice shirt

Hope this helps! Try not to stress over it! Have a great time :Pinkbounc

On our Western Cruise in April most women were wearing dressy capris, dresses, or skirts. The men were wearing polos/or dress shirt and Docker type pants. Some were in suits.

I wore mostly skirts/dresses. I wore a formal dress for formal night and my husband wore a suit/tie.

My kids (ds 10, dd 6) dressed up too. DS wore docker type pants with dress shirts, polos, and some "cruisewear"(tropical type) shirts. DD wore mostly dresses, but that is what she prefers to wear all of the time. On formal night DS wore a suit/tie, and DD wore her Easter dress.

on formal night (which tends to be our Palo night as well), DH wore a suit and tie, with black formal shoes. I wore a black cocktail dress and high heels. DDs wore wear matching dressy (holiday-looking) clothes.

for Palo brunch, DH had on a linen tropical-themed short-sleeved shirt, nice dressy khaki slacks and loafers. i wore a tropical sundress with a matching short knit sweater.

for regular dinners, DH usually wore khaki dockers with a knit shirt or polo shirt (no t-shirt). i wore capri pants, blouses and sandals (not flip-flops). DDs wore skorts/skirts/capri pants and blouses.

hope this helps.

I expected I would so packed accordingly, and then didn't. I wish I'd had more shorts (but just wore the same pair over and over again). Since my kids were Mickey Pool age, we weren't in the pool with them much - and I don't like wearing "swimsuit as clothes." I didn't feel comfortable in my swimsuit and coverup for lunch, so if we swam in the morning, we were changed in the afternoon.

I also wore shorts at some point during the day & it was nice to have a fresh outfit each day. :)
