Hi!
I have a question about counter service and what desserts you can get at the Peppermarlet on the DDP. I have read some reports that say only cookies and others who said pasteries and slices of cakes were included. Also what can you use snack creduts for at the Peppermarket? Can you get ice cream for a snack credit or a piece of cake?
Thank-You,
PammyPoppins

good question, I've been wondering the same because I do remember reading about someone using their snack credits to purchase a danish or something in the morning. I thought that would be great for an occasional quick grab for breakfast. It's not good that we are both thinking about desserts at this time of night.:rotfl: Linda

LOL! I am thinking about dessert right now you are right!! Oh a nice slice of carrot cake right now would be wonderful!
P.S. I am worried about how I am going to eat all these desserts in Sept. and not put alot of weight on. I keep trying to remind myself that just because it is free dining does not mean I have to eat desserts and a snack each day.

I'll take a slice of that carrot cake if you don't mind and I think I'll have a cup of tea as well:) We are going in August and I keep saying I'm going to lose some weight before going but we've had many birthday parties and graduation parties this month and tonight we were just at a confirmation I've had more than my share of cake already this month:sad2: The diet starts tommorrow! Although Monday we leave to go down the Jersey shore, I don't think they sell any healthy food on the boardwalk:rotfl: I think it's time to get on my sneaks and hit the pavement the sooner I get use to walking in the hot weather the sooner I'll be ready for disney. After all I don't want to have to grease my hips to get off of space mountain.:rotfl2: Linda

I see you are from Jeresy and you mentioned the Jersey shore, we live in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Springfield, Pa. We go to the Jersely shore all the time! We will be in Disney in Sept. and Cornado Springs for 13 nights with free dining, I can't wait! Have fun at the shore and I know you will fun at Disneyworld.
P.S. we use to have a shore house in Sea Isle City but sold it a few years ago. We go to Atlantic City every once in a while to the casino's. We went to Harrah'slast week and it looks really nice since they renovated, the buffett was pretty good.

We have'nt been to the Jersey Shore in a couple of years we usually stay in Wildwood Crest, but this trip we are heading to my sil in little egg harbor she recently moved there in a retirement comm. so we will visit with them and spend time probably at long beach island and a trip or two down to the wildwood boardwalk. We have not been to A/C in about 20 yrs., although my parents go from time to time. You are actually closer than we are we are up in Northern NJ close to the NY border. Enjoy your trip to disney in Sept! We went in 2005 and did the free dining in the end of Sept. beginning of Oct. which was a nice time quieter even with the free ddp but my DS starts High School this year so we are going in Aug. squeezing it in between football practice and back to school (labor day weekend) I'm concerned with the heat and crowds, I figure if it's too hot and crowded we will spend much time at the pools and water parks and eating some good food. I planning on a couple of early morning visits and evening visits to avoid the extreme heat. What we will do for a taste of disney and free (yummy) food. Are you planning any meals at the maya grill? I did'nt make any ressies there and now I'm thinking I should've. Boy did I ramble:rotfl: Linda

We just returned for CSR. The choices for dessert at Pepper Market were very limited. We were allowed large cookies or turnovers. They had icecream and slices of cakes and pies, but we were told they were not allowed with the dining plan. Even at the food stand by the pool, you only received a bag of chocolate chip cookies as your dessert with the quick service meals. There was no dessert choice there at all. My family was disappointed with the choices. Just our experience.

No they did not allow us to use snack credits for the icecream, pies, and cakes. We tried several days with different cast members to use them and they told us only the cookies and turnovers were allowed. Maybe others had better luck than we did.
We were able to use our snack credits for "smoothies" at the pool location. They were very good!:yay:

Hi Pammypoppins,
I'm your neighbor from Broomall. I lived in Springfield when I was newly married, and my DH is from Springfield. We're also staying at Coronado in Dec. and was wondering about the snack credits there also. We'll probably use most of our snack credits in the parks, since it doesn't seem like there's a lot of selection at Coronado. I also have a trip in August with free dining. (I really don't need all of these snacks, but can't wait. Have a great time in Disney!!:goodvibes

Hi Disnut,
Oh Yes, we are neighbors. We are very close to Broomall we are at the very end of Springfield. We live right by the Lamb tavern and Cardinal O'Hara. I just came from the Pathmark in Broomall. I hope you have a great time on your Disney Trips! I thought the same thing I would just use my snack creits in the park! The fresh baked cookies with hand-dipped ice cream in them at the Main street bakery is one place I want to use my snack credits. I am trying not to go to Dairy Queen much this summer so I can save all the calories for the Free Dining plan in Disney.

We're back from CSR on June 3. This was our experience too. Sorry.

we stayed at CSR in may. there are pros and cons, with the DDP at this resort. the desserts were very disappointing. I was told a cookie or a muffin (not a turnover). there were soft serve ice cream cones near the soda stand that tempted me, but they were not eligible. however, you can get a great counter service meal, otherwise, just lousy desserts.
snacks, not sure what was included, not much at pepper market or la tienda. however, in the gift shop, you can get a big bag of chips or a box of donuts, for in the room.
maya grill: winniethepoohsmom : do NOT miss. great food! the filets are tender and yummy. the empanada are a great appetizer. the atmosphere is very pleasing.
just too bad they won't let you get ice cream or carrot cake for dessert.:sad2:

When we were there in Dec. we would use the dessert of our CS to pick up danishes, and then save them for breakfast the next morning. The portions at PM are so big, we (and I'm a BIG eater) didn't have room for other stuff.

We ended up having left over snack credits on the day we checked out so my children went to the gift shop and purchased candy to give as gifts for some of their friends. They were allowed any candy that did not come in a "tin" and was under $4. They really enjoyed their "shopping" that day and had gifts for their friends. They cast members in the store are wonderful about helping you get the most for your snack credits!:thumbsup2
