We are planning our first cruise next May 22nd. We are planning on arrving in Orlando the weekend before and spend 5 days a WDW and then go on the cruise. Please tell me how this works, when do we need to be in Port so I can make plans for this and what time do we get back on Sunday so I can make our out going flight home? Thanks for the information.

Are you taking the bus from WDW to DCL? IF you are taking the transfer that information will be provided to you.

If you are planing to take a limo or a rental car to DCL, the terminal is open at about 10:30 AM. From the information on the board here it takes about 45 mins to 1 hour to get to DCL from WDW. We took a limo from Hyatt at the airport to DCL and it took about 45 mins.

As for the return, the genral feeling here at this board is that if the fight is after 12:00 noon you should be safe. Again others may have a different view. Oh BTW it also depends if you want to rush getting to the airport or do not mind waiting a little at the airport for your flight.

Have a fun time planning.

Our return flight home this year is at 11:15 AM, which shouldn't be too early, if all goes well. Last year, our return flight wasn't until 3:00 PM and it felt as if we were at the airport aaaaaaall day! I would rather be a bit rushed and not have to sit around for 4 or 5 hours!

Last year, we were off the ship and through customs before 9AM and at the airport shortly after 10. If we can accomplish that again, we should be in good shape, and we'll get home so much earlier too.

Our flight in August departs at 4pm when we return from the cruise. We plan on renting a car for the day and visiting my DH's aunt for a couple of hours before going to the airport.

We had a choice of 11am or 6pm. We booked the 6pm. We wont be getting home till after10pm but its Sat so we will still have Sun off before heading back to work. We are also flying down the day before the cruise. We are renting a car to & from Port Canaveral so will take our time (Downtown Disney, DVC resorts) getting to & from the airport.

I would recommend earlier rather than later for the flight home. We went on the Magic's Millenium Sailing (we were on board for the start of the new year) and our travel agent told us that the ship didn't get back until 5 pm. WRONG!!! So there we were with an 8:30 pm flight home and we got off the Magic around 8:30 am. We were a little put off by the prospect of spending 11 or 12 hours in the airport and there were no rental cars available from any reputable agencies so we ended up taking MEARS to the Florida Mall and spending the day there. Not the greatest, but at least there was more to do there than just sit at the airport all day.:p
