I know that the only way to know for sure is to wait until the offical dates are announced, but historically do they have " normal" days of operations for this? We will be going Sep 25- Oct 01 and I would like to attend, but I am trying to plan our days and I am gtting ready to make ADRs but I don't want to book something for one park and not be able to go. We do not do hoppers. Thanks so much for any help.

You don't need a park ticket to get into the MNSSHP. All you need is your party ticket.

Typically the party days are Tues and Fri with a Sun thrown in there once in a while. But Disney isn't doing a lot of typical things lately.

Thanks, that helps. I was going to try and plan our AK day on the party day so we can do AK that morning and afternoon and then head over to MK. I want to make dinner reservation at MK for the party night also, just trying to get a good game plan, but I know I will have to try and be flexible as well.

I'm shooting for BOG on party night. Early though because, I believe they close at 7 when the party starts.

Although the dates haven't been officially announced, the September calendar is out, so it's pretty safe to assume that any day that the MK closes at 7 is a party date. You can see the September calendar here:

The first two early closures of MK in September are for Night of Joy. The first MNSSHP appears to be scheduled for Sept. 10. October's calendar was released earlier this week...

DH was casually informed on the phone by a CM that the best way to figure out when MNSSHP (and other parties) were going to occur was to see if they are accepting any ADRs that night or not. If there are no openings for reservations from 7pm (I'm pretty sure that was the time... could be an hour earlier... I'm bad at remembering numbers...) or later, and they are not taking any ADRs that night, and it means it is a party night!

It also helps to see what time the parks are open until.

Using these clues, we figured out that MNSSHP should be on Fridays, Sundays (and I believe also Tuesdays?) this year. (Just double check using your super sleuthing skills.) The exception is Columbus Day, which the Sunday night before the holiday will not have the party but Columbus Day does instead.

I hope this helps your planning! It sure helped my group be able to plan for our October trip!

Also, looking at the September calendar, I am reminded that Thursdays are the other days and not Tuesdays... I'm very sleepy today, sorry!

we went to a party on a tuesday in 2010. i am guessing they change days from year to year?

No, Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are pretty standard. The only exception seems to be doing a party on Columbus Day instead of Sunday and Tuesday for that week.
