What Day Would Be Best?

Hello Everyone,

We will be in Orlando from August 16-September 1st.

The majority of our time will be spent at Disney World, but DD7 and I are both a little Harry Potter crazy and so a day at IOA was 100% necessary

We only have 1 day tickets for IOA and I am trying to decide what would be the best day of the week to go. I have read that Sundays are good days, but is a weekend day really less busy than during the week?

Ideally we would like to go one day during our first week. Any suggestions?

i probably would.

many families vacation sunday to sunday. with peeps leaving on sunday to return home, you would find less in the parks usually.

during the height of the summer vacationers, that theory sometimes does not work though.

if you go the end of august, sunday should be a good choice.

I don't think crowds will significantly less either day so they should be about the same. I would go on which ever day suits your schedule better.

Being there as close to park opening (preferably before) is in your best interest also.

Sunday mornings aren't bad.

Thursdays, reportedly, are their slowest day of the week. I've read it in a couple guide books (Frommers, for example) but we heard it from a couple different staff members during our last visit to IOA.

I think we will go with Thursday and we'll definitely make sure that we are there for opening.

Yes Disney World is the focus (10 day hoppers) and we want to have a few days off to relax at the house we have rented. WWOHP was a must though!
Also, our youngest is only 3 and even though she is a daredevil she doesn't make the height requirements for so many of the rides at Universal.

Going at a relaxed pace and knowing we have a lot of time will be so nice with how hot it is going to be.

I can see the need to relax - one day at Disney and I need to relax

Just a shame to spend such a small amount of time at Universal. I think each park in comparison one on one to some of the disney parks are better.

You should pick a day at the end of your vacation. Schools will be back almost everywhere and it should be very quiet compared to the beginning of your vacation.

We do the same thing, pretty much.

We arrive, stay one night at the HRH, hit IOA, and then it's off to Disney for the rest of the vacation.

We MIGHT (because we're flying in early, our first day) do hoppers this time. We're talking aboutit. We'll should land around 10 AM, arrive at the HRH around noon, and then maybe hit up USF for 1/2 day, grab dinner, and then do IOA the next day. We'll see.

We did USF about 6 years ago (before my youngest was even born). We enjoyed it, but didn't feel the need to do it again until this year...where it's only a maybe.
