What day to do our character breakfast?

I am having a ridiculously hard time making decisions. Just today I switched our hotel, again. We had to add a 4th night anyway, and to add a 4th night through Costco or straight through Carousel was bringing the cost up enough, so I figured "why not?" and moved us over to Paradise Pier for the whole stay. :upsidedow

I (I wish I could say "we" but DH is just happy to be going on vacay, and my track record for planning trips is a good one, so I'm in charge) have 99.5% decided on Lilo and Stitch breakfast (convenient hotel choice).

We're inside the 60-day zone now. I want to book the character breakfast that is part of our Costco package.

We'll get there on a Monday morning (in Sept), and check out sometime on Friday. Since we've never done any character interaction at all before (we've only done one-day trips driving back and forth from San Diego on that day, and the characters felt like a waste of time), I can't figure out if we should do it first, so he can then recognize characters in the park later, or at the end, once he's seen some of them in the park, or in the middle....

If it were just DH and I, I'd just pick, but I want the timing to be good so DS can enjoy it the most.

Anyone have this "problem"?:upsidedow

Anyone have any thoughts on it?

Thank you!

Are you going into the parks on Friday? If not, I would do it Friday morning to get more of that Disney feeling on your last day when you aren't heading into the parks.

Do you know how DS is going to react to characters anyhow? My son is sort of afraid of being close to them (although admires them from afar) therefore when we were there last time we went on the last day, the morning of our checkout. It worked out really well. He'd had enough time the prior days to get acclimated to character interaction.

If you're going to go to the Lilo and Stitch breakfast I would just rent Lilo and Stitch or watch the little TV show (is it even still on?) a couple times so he knows who they are. I know there will be other characters there too, but I can't remember who.

Oh yes, definitely planning on going in on Friday. :)

I don't know how he'll react to the characters...I've always treated him with too much caution regarding those things, because I was incredibly skittish, but he's proved time and time again that he is FAR braver than I was as a kid. Then again, sometimes I get relaxed, and he will suddenly have a hard time with something. So I just don't know!

What is the movie like? I never saw it. Though their pictures are in the travel brochure (man oh man does Disney make some good brochures! it's THEIR fault I upgraded to PP, even though I had many really good reasons for changing to the Carousel back in March), and I've been going through that so he can identify characters, we've never seen the movie. Guess I'd best go to Netflix next, eh?

We've gone back and forth on what breakast to do, and I think the concept of pineapple scones is what made me swoon over to the Lilo b'fast... I make decisions based on interesting thoughts...:rolleyes1

We just did a "checking out" day character bkfst at Goofy's to get that last fix of characters before we went home - but we did not go into the parks that day. So, I'd say Friday

We did the Lilo & Stitch Breakfast in May.

The things I liked:
* you could order off the menu instead of buffet (cheaper when my DS will ONLY eat pancakes) if you want.
* It is smaller than the others I have done (Goofy's, Minnie's) so the characters spent more time with us. I have pictures of Lilo coloring with my daughter, just precious.
* We saw only saw 4 characters, but we weren't there long: Lilo, Stitch, Minnie in Hawaian clothes, and Max

The food however, I did not care for much. Both Goofy's and Minnie's at the Plaza had much better food. Our favorite is actually Minnie's as they had the best character interaction for us. We did like the food better at Goofy's though I think.

However, we were also staying at PP and you can't beat the location of Lilo and Stitch when you stay there. ;)

We like to do our character breakfast in the middle of the week. We plan it prior to the park opening. If it is your son's first experience with the characters, I'd would not do it the first day. I also recommend an autograph book of some sort, it gave both my kids more "confidence" in approaching the characters...they had a "purpose" and weren't so frightened.

We are doing a character bfast on the the last day... but we are not going into the park.... just trying to extend the fun a little!
