What day is the least busy at a DMV?

Last time I went there I waited over an hour! I may have gone a bad day though....who knows.

There is a chance of rain tomorrow am.....maybe that would work.

The best day to go is the day it rains. Last time I made an appt. which is far better, but it's usually 2 months out.

Can you try the Monroe office? It's supposed to have the shortest lines. GL!!!

Too bad. Maybe it's just supposed to be the best office for teens taking the driving exam.

I can attest that Albermarle and Arrowood are HORRIBLE! At least the people working at Albermarle are nice though. Do you know, in VA they "made" you pay less when renewing by mail? As in, some other state realizes that fewer people at the DMV is actually a good thing? Gotta love NC. GL and pixie dust too.

Good luck on your visit, whenever you go. Let us know how it works out please.

You can't do an online renewal? We have had that option for years now, you keep the same picture which is kind of freaky to me. I've had the same picture for 12 years, and could have the same picture for many more. You only have to go in if you move or are a senior citizen and need additional testing. I'd would go in on a Tuesday mid month.

we can do online renewal here too. but only every other time. license is good for 5 years and the pic for 10 years.
my dh went yesterday and renewed his license , it was right after lunch, around 2 pm and he was in and out of there in 10 minutes:thumbsup2

OP I looked up your state, and at least your fees are lower and you can go longer in between renewals!
ours is $50 every 5 years.

My neighbor went to the DMV 45 min. away in boonesville to avoid the wait. I may do that. Our local DMV is 30 min. away anyway, in a different direction.

When I had to get new plates on a car, I went to the neighboring county (20 mins away) to do my plates. I never waited in line. My husband went to the local one about the same time of day the next week and waited an hour before he even got to a window....and that was for driver's licenses, which had a shorter line than new plates!!!

So, sometimes it pays to look into a little further drive.

Ok, I went yesterday. It was relatively painless. I went to the closer one. It is still 23 miles away!

Anyway, I did have to leave and go find an ATM as I had no cash and had forgotten my checkbook, but that was MY FAULT!

I only waited a few minutes! I breezed through the signs test and vision test and renewed for another 5 years! :thumbsup2
