What date do they REALLY begin removing Christmas Decor?

Do they begin taking ALL of the Christmas decor down on January 6th? Or is it done in stages? Planning an early Jan 2020 trip and want to experience a little Disney post-christmas. What would your advice be?

It’s definitely in stages but they start before 6th jan. we stayed over New Years before and the had started reducing the Christmas decorations at our hotel during our stay. By our last day, which was the day after the last day of Christmas, the tree on main street was gone but the other decorations were still present.

Official Christmas season extends to the first days of January, if that fits your calendar. I especially like the Christmas tree lights, and this is not something that can be seen after the end of the season.
