What cool ideas to put in kids lunch boxes...

OMG>>>the website is unbelivabe!! It put my lunches to shame....were do you get Bento box? Never heard of them...are they expensive???

Ok what is pkg morningstar farms crumbles? It is part of a recipe.
I get mine at my local Korean, Japanese, Asian store. It is great. Not expensive.

Have a ????
do you mix herbs or something with the cream cheese?
Great ideas....
I saw a recipe for a roll up in the newspaper yesterday...DH took it to work:mad: ... Now I have looking on the internet...

nope...did it plain. thought about doing some tastefully simple spices, but got lazy!

for the pp on apples...i found little prepackaged sliced apples at costco. way cool, twins loved that today.

The best way I can describe morningstar crumbles are a vegetarian version of cooked ground beef. They'd be in the frozen foods section at the market.

Ebay has lots of bento boxes and accessories.

I used to put little notes and a Hershey Kiss or Hug in their lunch boxes since I couldn't kiss them in person.

I also bought colorful paper napkins (Disney, Ninja Turtles, Batman, etc) and put them in the lunch boxes. The other kids (and mine) thought that was pretty cool.

(sigh) that was a long time ago......

Well, we started packing for our twins yesterday. Crazy, I feel like they were just babies....

The kids seem to like cream cheese and salami roll ups. Our school suggested things like using pancakes instead of bread, etc. We are also a peanut/treenut free school.

This is from our school's website:

Anxious to see other creative ideas.

Great idea to put it on the web site!!!

I'm not a mom...but what you have already sounds good to me!
But my mom never used to write me notes but then like a couple years ago when I was like 11 my parents went on a cruise so my aunt and uncle watched us and it was so funny because my uncle sent us like a "weather" themed lunch. It was so corny but I loved it! He wrote a note telling what the weather is going to be like, what we're doing tonight, little doodles, and other stuff. He cut the sandwich in a sun pattern. It was cute LOL.
I'm easily made happy :) But it was fun. Sorry for the story, Haha, I'm sure it didn't help much but yeah.

Disney.Ears, I loved your story! I still do that stuff once in while for my DD13, she thinks it's corny but it still makes her laugh.
Also, in your sig you've got one of my favorite lines from a song,
"if every simple song I wrote for you would take your breath away, I'd write it all"
it makes me laugh, 'cause then, wouldn't she, like, die from not breathing??? :confused3

I am heading to the store today...
my small round glad or rubbermaid fits perfectly in a small rectangler container. So, this morning i sliced apples let them sit in lemon juice then transfer them to the rectangle container and in the small container I add peanut butter. That for is snack in school.

I loved the websites.... I have to sit down this weekend and look for recipes...
Thanks everyone!!
I had a lot of looking really fast on the websites....those boxes are expensive. there is a local store 30 minutes from my house that sells Bento boxes...next week I will go and check them out.

WOW!! Great ideas...:)

When both of my kids were little I used to make them small cheese pizzas the night before. I would use a small boboli crust and add sauce and cheese, bake and cool. These were great the next day in thier lunch boxes!
