A note about film in your luggage. I have heard that the Xray machines that check your checked luggage are much stronger than the ones that check the carry-on luggage. I stick my camera in my carry on and so far it's been fine. I've used little zip ties (plastic) to secure my luggage - if they need to get into the suitcase, they just cut the zip tie, but then resecure it with another zip tie. (My understanding is that luggage manufacturers only make a few different locks, so anyone processing baggage could possibly have a key to your luggage.) Usually if they search it, they will leave a note inside telling you hat it has been searched.

They went thru one of our bags in FLL in Feb. It looked as if they got to the item they wanted to see and stopped looking. Bag was in good shape.
I would not worry about it , cause you can't control it.
