What companies give to schools?

We are doing a reading program at our school. My girlfriend and I are heading it up. We are trying to get in contact with companies in the hope that they will give some incentives to the kids. so far we have Friendly's, Dunkin Donuts and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Does anyone know of any companies that would give something for some kind of incentive to the readers? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Applebees, outback steakhouse, Walmart , target to name a few. Alot of your local companies have special stuff set aside for these things.

In my area, Target and Washington Mutual Bank give to local schools.

If you have a Great America near you - they have a reading program that results in a free pass to Great America for the child.

Red Robin Restaurants give our elementary school FREE KIDS MEAL coupons by the hundreds. (I'm a teacher at the school). This works out great for me because my own 2 kids love the place. We distribute them to the students with the report cards...and we have over 600 students.

2 or 3 years ago, 7-Eleven gave us a ton of FREE SLURPEE coupons to distribute.

Last month, we also had enough COLD STONE CREAMERY coupons for a FREE KIDS CREATION to give one to each student.

We gave out certificates to Bouldar Creek, Applebees, Friendlys and Old Country Buffet/Hometown Buffet.

I've been involved in fundraising for years and I've found that the local companies are the best at offering gift certificates and prizes - local franchises of Dunkin' Donuts and McDonald's are the best (not the corporate stores, only the local ones). The big guys refer you to their corporate headquarters and they always send a form letter out stating all they "do" for the community which basically is not much.

Try your local karate school, hairdressers, restaurants, etc. I feel bad hitting up the same places over and over but they are really great to our schools - and they like the publicity.

Thank you all for your replies. We are very excited to tell the children everything that we have for incentives for them. So far we have, Rainforest Cafe, Friendlys, local pizza place, Brighams and KFC.

some of the places that you mentioned I appreciate, we just don't have them near us.

Just curious??? What did the bank give to you?
