but in todays standards it would be a bit frightening or just wired to let your children watch

Mine was The New Zoo Review, look at these weird creatures

I loved that show!!! I forgot all about it until you posted that pic!

I'm going to go with Land of the Lost

Of those types of shows I used to watch Sesame Street, The Electric Company, and The Great Space Coaster. Also Land of the Lost, Muppet Babies, The Muppet Show (which isn't really that kind of show but I remember wathcing it as early as I can remember). There was a local show called Magicland. I could also jam to some Schoolhouse Rock!

As a really little kid it was Mr. Dress-Up and The Friendly Giant, sometimes Romper Room and always, without fail, Sesame Street. When I got a little older it was The Flintstones every day at lunch and Bugs Bunny every Saturday afternoon.

oh my gosh the name Mr dress Up, sounds like it could do some physiological damage

My first thought was Captain Kangaroo, but yeah Jason, The New Zoo Review is up there for creepiness.

Anyone remember Kids Incorporated? Not creepy, well maybe except for the extreme 80s costuming.

Don’t tell anybody, but at the end of the opening of The Land of the Lost I would hide on the side of the TV when the dinosaur would roar.

The New Zoo Review,

elegant and feminine is henrietta hippo, very wise and very smart is charley the owl, not so smart but lots of heart is freddy the frog-it's quite an unusual thing, the animals talk and sing with doug and emmy jo every days a different show............. :rotfl:

The Banana Split

their comedy horror movie a couple years ago was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

This was basically my line up too.
When you only had two channels (CBC and CTV) there wasn't really a whole lot of options. And it was always a sublime treat when Sunday night's Wonderful World of Disney was an animated feature. Imagine my joy as a tween when The Hilarious House of Freightenstein and The Smurfs debuted.
