Hi everyone. We are off to WDW tomorrow:cool 1::dance3::cool1::yay: and have booked our car through Alamo and was wondering what kind of cars does everyone think i should expect to be offered for the class i have booked? what i have booked is 4x4 7 Seater Full Size A/C - Dodge Durango or Similar. I had booked exactly the same car last year but when i was at the desk i was offered a Jeep Commando as a FREE upgrade and felt a little conned when i came back and was charged £150 on my card for different things. So obviously this year i want to make sure the same thing doesnt happen again.
ps isnt the Jeep Commando in that class anyway ie:- full size 4x4??

looking forward to your replies

Darren

The Jeep Commander is a standard car in the 4x4 full-size range, so they lied when they told you it was a "free upgrade".

Wish it was me going ;) have a wonderful time Darren , you can tell us all about it went you get back :) :yay::yay:

Fight you for it, we're off tomorrow and collecting an Alamo 4x4 7 Seater Dodge Durango or similar!!

Not on Virgin from Manchester are you?

Stick to your guns about the car - we had ordered a Jeep at Christmas & they (Dollar) said they didn't have one and offered something else - we said no & funnily enough they had a Jeep - but had to bring it over from the other terminal at Orlando!

Have a great holiday:)

I got a 4x4 7 seater from Alamo at MCO in October 08 and I got a GMC Acadia, very nice indeed!!

Full size 4 x 4 from Alamo last year was a Jeep Commander

.... don't let them fool you into thinking they haven't got one .... its standard practice, we got talked into a Hummer and it was awful! and that's from a family of petrolheads!

Took it back after 3 days and the Jeep Commander was far superior with far more toys!!! even a reversing camera

We hired a 7 seater SUV twice last year.

First time we got a Durango which was huge and very comfy but a bit thirsty. The second time we were told there were no 7 seaters and only 1 standard SUV - a Jeep Cherokee which they claimed was a Jeep Commander - despite having Cherokee written on the side.

It was late and big enough so I took it - it was rubbish. I then spent 6 months trying to claim off Alamo before eventually giving up. I didn't actually pay more for the 7 seater but I really objected to being lied to about the Cherokee being the Commander.

This year I have another 7 seater so am hoping for anything other than a Jeep - the GMC Acadia looks nice. If they only have Commanders I will probably have a look at the standard SUVs to see if they have anything nice.

I would be interested to know if anyone has had a nice 7 seater or standard SUV recently.

As an update, we got a Chevy Tahoe which I think was a free upgrade as they had no Commanders I might be wrong though.

I love it except almost every control has been moved somewhere different to a UK car! Parking brake is not a handbrake, the release for the parking brake is hidden, gear shift is odd to say the least, but twin zone steroes and quad zone air-con are a winner.

Very big, easily large enough for family, mother in law, two car seat, two pushchairs and numerous suitcases.

Very happy, want to bring one home!
