my parents would like to try it out after seeing it on the travel channel. My DH os am extremely picky eater and I just want to make sure he will be happy there.

pros/cons anything would be appreciated :flower:

I consider myself a picky eater...I don't like veggies, for example. However, I LOVED Boma's! So did DH! We would go back in a second!

Check out the menu at www.allearsnet.com.

I know they have prime rib. We really enjoyed it for dinner one night and can't wait to go back. We liked being able to try stuff we would not normally eat. The dessert are to die for. I think anyone could find something to eat.

IMO, if you can't find food you like here, then McDonalds and Burger King must be what you're looking for! :rotfl2: Do I need to mention Zebra Domes?

I enjoyed Boma when I ate there in May 2003 with my parents, DH, and DS18mo. It is truly a unique dining experience. Some of the "different" things we liked and some we didn't, but it was fun for us to try new things. There are enough of your traditional "buffet" items to please the picky eater! My parents can't wait to go back when we visit this fall.

I was a little nervous that DH and DD's would not like this place because the food was different than what we usually eat. I was nervous for nothing because they LOVED it. The prime rib and salmon (family favorites) were delicious and DH loved trying all the different soups. The desserts are absolutely YUMMY too. On top of that, the resort and the restaurant are beautiful. Go early and take a look at the animals on the savannah.

We love it and go every trip. I think you should definitely try it once for the food, atmosphere, experience. There is a huge variety of food so even the pickiest of eaters will be happy. Forget the zebra domes - the pineapple cheesecake is awesome!

BOMA= LOTS of meat. Excellent spaghetti and meatballs on kids buffet. The best hommus and flatbread. The side dishes are exotic but I tried most of them. Excellent soups. LOTS of desserts.

We ate at Boma for dinner in January. My husband who will eat anything really enjoyed it, his only complaint was that the food all had a sweet taste. I enjoyed the prime rib and salmon, and the meditarranean couscous was really good. It's a unique experience try it and see.

I took my mother (meat-and-potatoes type, not adventurous), DD 9 and DS 6 last summer. I went through and chose only foods that did not look familiar, to find that everyone else loaded up on the prime rib and macaroni and cheese! My mother refused to try anything different, but after the kids saw my rapturous reaction to some of my choices, they went back and tried a few things. Everyone (even mom - go figure!) said they want to eat at Boma again.

I'm glad there are so many positive reviews of this place 'cause I plan on pigging out there in November! :mickeybar

Is Boma the resturant that is in Poly? I think I am starting to go a little crazy I am starting to forget places I wanted to go. There was a place that had some kind of sour dough bread stuffed with bananas, deep fried and covered with cinnamon sugar. I thought it was Boma. OMG...Please help!

No - Boma is in the AKL. Kona is at the Poly with Tonga Toast

Thank you so much. I don't know how you guys can remember this stuff. You are great !!!

Boma is in Animal Kingdom Lodge.

kirkharrod: I'm surprised by your Boma=Meat comment. I think Boma is probably the best place on property to eat if you are a vegetarian. They have so many wonderful non-meat soups, entrees and sides.

We've eaten there twice, dinner both times. The place is big and loud but the food is wonderful and unique. There is definitely something for everyone from pretty simple chicken dishes for the non-adventurous to more exotic stuff for those with broader palates. And being a buffet, you can sample lots of different things then go back for more of the ones you like.

Don't forget to get there early to look at the animals out back.

Hi,

Love Boma especially breakfast!!! Enjoy!!

Allison

Boma is really very good. We went in 2003. They did have some slightly more exotic dishes (I had a fantastic coconut curry dish) but they did have some more basic things, like roasted chicken and prime rib. My mother-in-law tried every single one of the desserts (I kid you not) and was a very happy bunny for the rest of the evening! I agree that the breakfast buffet is very good too. Apart from the Victoria & Albert (I am a real foodie, it was divine) it is probably my favorite restaurant at WDW..and we have tried a lot!
