As a Christmas gift, DH and I will give his parents one overnight stay at the Yacht Club. As things turned out, they'll be in the area for Christmas week and have decided to stay at the YC on New Year's Eve. There will be 3 other people in their party, too. So it's a total of 5 people, ages 35 - 70.
I am going to urge the group to avoid the parks on NYE and NYD. I'm just convinced that they don't have the budget, the temperment or the fitness required to enjoy the parks on those busy, crowded days.
So, I need suggestions for what else they could do. This group is NOT into planning and scheduling. Nor are they likely to just explore on their own. (Kind of a wierd combo, I know. Basically, they like to have somebody else make exciting arrangements for them; then they just "go with the flow.")
All I've come up with mini golf, a pontoon or Breathless cruise, and DTD.
They've never stayed at a Disney resort, either. In 30 years of visiting WDW they've only done day trips from St. Pete. I think the YC will "wow" them. But, on the other hand, since they don't believe WDW has anything to offer beside the parks, I get the feeling they're skeptical about my "STAY AWAY FROM THE PARKS PLEA."
I hope this makes sense. Any suggestions? Advice?
TIA
