She's not online and has never been there. She bought a Disney package and will not be renting a car. It will be her, her DH and 4 kids ages 2-10.

How is the restaurant here? Is it here or on the other side?? I forget the name...will they be really limited on food choices?

How is the bus transportation and how often does it run, do you know?

How can they get to SW - what would be the most economical way?

They will be there for 5 nights....anything you'd like to add would be greatly appreciated - I'd like to print out any replies for her to read.

Thank you all in advance :D

Alligator Bayou was always my favorite place to stay. They have a great food court and restaruant. Your friend will love it. They have a great pool and lots to do especially with the boat to downtown Disney. We have never had a bad experience with the bus system either. You can also rent bikes and boats.

With kids she will really like the food court. It is set up in stations. One station has grilled foods (nuggets, hot dogs, pancakes, eggs, etc.) another station has Italian food (pizza, spaghetti, breadsticks, soup) another has salads and prepared food (chicken, mashed potatoes, ribs, corn) and the final one is the bakery (doughnuts, pies, cakes). Plus they have fresh fruit, chips, milk, cookies, bagel, veges, etc. in coolers in the food court area. You go select all your food and then pay for it as you exit the area. It has a large dining area. They have a legos table in the dining area where kids can play and they also have disney type movies running so it keeps kids busy.

There is a large playground area by the main pool. Older kids (7-9) seem to really like it. It is rustic and in the trees so it is well shaded. The pool is nice. Has a slide for the kids. And, there are numerous quiet pools throughout the resort. You can rent a scurry bike and/or paddle boats there at the dock, also.

The rooms are about 314 sq feet with a separate area for the shower and toilet. There are two pedestal sinks with a shelf above them. There isn't a formal closet but a clothes rack that is open and you can put suitcases on the floor. There is also an armoire with several drawers in it and the TV. There is a small table with two chairs and then two double beds. The trundle pulls out from under one of the double beds. Isn't big but is adequate for a smaller child.

AB section is heavy into the greenery. Reminds one of the old south. She might want to request a room close to the food court and bus stop area. Some of the AB buildings are a walk from the food court. We were in bldg. 15 and it was convenient. I think 14, 15, 16, and 18 are all fairly good locations.

Also, you can use the facilities at the POFQ. Younger kids really like the slide down there at the main pool. And, the playground area is a bit more for younger kids. Haven't seen the new food court but they say it is similar to the one at Riverside.

Bus transportation. If you can go to the first bus stop. That increases your chances of getting on and getting a seat during busy times. It picks up at FQ first and then goes to all 4 stops at Riverside. We have had few problems with the buses there. Soemtimes it depends on whether you just arrived as the bus was leaving. It is about 15 minutes between buses, normally.

Can't think of anything else. I will post if I do.
