What Can I Reserve in Advance?

My son will be four when we visit Disney World next spring. What can I / do I need to reserve in advance (or where can I research this)? I will be researching for our trip over the next few months but if there are things that sell out I would like to book them ASAP.

So far, I have made a reservation for The Pirate's League and have also booked several character meals.

If you have Pirate’s League and your meals booked, you are good for now.

There is something Disney is testing now called Fast Pass + where you can reserve a time for specific rides and certain shows, but that is done at about 60 days out at least for now. The concept is still being tested so we don’t know what it will be come spring. We are also going in the spring. If you read over on the Theme Park Attractions and Strategies board you will read more than you want to about all of that.

If you want Photopass, you can prepay for the CD if you want. If you haven’t heard of it, it is a service where Disney places photographers around and at various character meet and greets at each park to take pictures, and after your trip you can view them, make edits, add borders, and then get them on a CD.

There’s also a thing called photopass plus where you can also get other photos added to your account for no extra charge like photos from rides that take them (Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror, Buzz Light-year Space Ranger Spin, etc.) and photos taken at certain restaurants where a pre-meal photo is taken and not included (Tusker House, Chef Mickey’s, Ohana breakfast, etc.). If you want to prepay for that, just pay at least 14 days before your trip.
