Okay you vets, I know this horse has been ridden countless times but here goes....we are going home very 1st time to our home resort at VWL, wondered what things if any will we find in our studio, like coffee...things we otherwise might need from grocery store (of course not including food).

Therein lies my next question, give recommendations on DVCs grocery service vs. stopping on our own at grocery store(we would be coming from airport so we would be using a towncar service). We would only be buying a small amount of things...cereal, poptarts, milk, snacks, etc.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

I think you get a starter supply of coffee, if you plan on drinking it daily you probably need to bring your own. You also get small supplies of bar soap, dish soap, and paper plates. If you only need a few groceries, I would probably pick them up at the mercantile. They are a little more expensive, but I don't think it's that awful. If you get a stop with your service, it might be worthwhile to use. We always have our car, so it's not an issue for us. We loved our studio and found it worked well for our family. We have never stayed in anything larger, so at this point we haven't been spoiled yet. The mini kitchen in the studio was fine for us, as I don't even like to cook at home, let alone on vacation.:teeth: Hope you have a great time on your trip. Erin

Thanks for the info. We are like you about the cooking deal on vacation. We love the WDW restaurants and like trying different ones. We figured that we might could save a few$$ if we had breakfast in room, with foods that dont require a lot of preptime. This is all new to us so we want to make sure we have all the bases covered. Besides, my DW cant get enough coffee in morning so she HAS TO MAKE SURE there is some around, close by if you know what I mean.

jimmytammy,

Since you won't have a car...I would have to agree with ErinC about just using the WL Mercantile. It'll probably have everything you need for snacks and simple breakfast stuff.

I mean, if you don't want to cook on vacation, then it stands to reason that you don't want to stop at a store for a few things either, doesn't it?;)

You will have a great time, I'm sure. And I envy you to be able to visit while the holiday decorations are up.

Please let us know how your trip went when you get back.

Have fun!

Granny

Your probably right about that cooking bit, and it seems like a reccuring thing to use the mercantile store at the lodge. We have stayed at Grosvenor Resort once and ALL Star Sports twice and used their stores for milk and such. We just arent used to having a ref. and MW in our room so we dont know what to do with ourselves.
Anyhow thanks for the input and I will be sure to let yall know how things went at VWL and WDW.
