We will be doing one day for both parks November 16 (Tuesday). I have two unused tickets from a trip 7 years ago, and will buy one more one day-two park ticket so the 3 of us can use up the two. (confused yet?)

Anyway, because we only have one day , and I'd like to finish by dinner I know we will have to kind of rush through and see major rides only. Maybe a show or two.

I don't like roller coasters (dont do TT, BTM, SM etc)...
So please let me know for these rides---should I skip them?

Morning US-
Rip Ride Rockit, Jaws, MIB, Mummy, Shrek, Simpsons, Terminator, Twister

IOA-after lunch
I figure I have to skip everything except maybe;
Spiderman, and some Suess stuff...

DD and DH love coasters and will ride most everything except probably too cold for the water rides.

Thanks for the input!

Rip Ride Rockit & Mummy are both coasters more extreme than BTM. When you see RRR, you'll know. ;) But you should enjoy everything else at US I'd think.

At IOA, you'd want to skip Hulk, DD, Dr. Doom, and Ripsaw Falls. The Jurassic Park River Adventure has a long drop in it, but you are enclosed the whole time and don't realize how high up you are. 99% of that ride is very smooth and not really a "thrill ride" per say.

My wife also will not ride coasters and doesn't like to get wet. But she does fine on motion simulators (which make me a little quesy...although I can ride everything else)
Here's what I recommended for her and she did fine.
IoA:
Skip...
Most Extreme: Hulk and Dueling Dragons (coasters), Dr. Doom's (free fall)
Wet: Dudley Do Rights and Bilge Rat Barges (get wet rides).

Ride...:yay:
Moderate: Jurassic Park River (water but not wet, one hill, but not a coaster) and Spiderman (4-D simulator ride)
Mild: Poseidon's Fury (walk through, special effects), Sinbad (show), Dr. Suess rides.

US:
Skip...:sad2:
Most Extreme: RRR and Mummy (coasters) (and Woody Woopecker's little coaster)

Ride...:woohoo:
Moderate: Twister (walk through effects), Disaster (was Earthquake), Jaws (water, effects, may get a little wet), Jimmy Neutron (motion simulator), MIB (laser target ride w/ some spinning)
Shows: T2 (4D effect show), Shrek (4D show), Beetlejuice (music show, loud), Fear Factor (stunt show), Horror Make Up (comical horror movie effects), Animal Actors (funny animal show)
Mild: ET

I probably forgot a few, but I hope that helps.

Thanks-- keep em coming.
I vaguely remember riding MIB when we were there in 02, and thought it was a big much for me..if thats an indicator at all of what I can tolerate. I can handle Test Track, green Mission Space, and (barely) Dinosaur, believe it or not...

Jurassic Park Ride is a great ride, and is a do not miss for me. It is very calm, (boat ride) very cool I think you could handle it. There is a decent drop at the end, but most of the so-called "chickens" that have done this ride with me always say, hey that wasn't bad etc.

Also with Mummy, a must do. It has some coaster type elements, but I think you could handle it, as long as you think you can handle a ride that gets fast at a certain point, but not jerky, no huge drops. Again, my wife does not like roller coasters, but rode this, she loved it and wanted to do it over and over. If you think you can take a chance on a ride, I would definitely try Mummy and the Jurassic Park boat ride. You definitely shouldn't get sick from motion sickness on either of these rides, like you can on a traditional coaster.

Easier rides are Spiderman (not fast at all) Men In Black, ET, and Terminator.

Yay, I've been constructing an "Intensity Scale" for the rides, now I can apply it. This list is subjective, but simple enough to follow. Ratings of 5 = Very Intense (Hulk, Dragons). 3 = Moderate (Mummy, Ripsaw Falls) 1 = Mild (ET, Jaws)

For you, OP, I'd recommend anything with a 3 or lower. It's your call, so go for it.

US:
-Jimmy Neutron (simulator): 2
-Shrek (4-D show, seats move): 1
-Hollywood Rockit (rollercoaster): 4
-Twister (SFX show): 2
-Mummy (indoor coaster): 3
-Blues Brothers (show): 0 (It's a street show and is fun!)
-Disaster (more show than ride): 2
-Jaws (boat ride with effects and a shark): 1. (The ride is smooth, the shark & effects may make this a 3)
-MiB (dark ride with spinning): 2
-Simpsons Ride (simulator): 2
-ET (dark ride): 1
-Woody's Coaster: 1
-Feivel's Slide: 1
-T2:3D (show): 2

IOA:
-Hulk Coaster: 5
-Storm Force (teacups): 2
-Doctor Doom (shot tower) 4
-Spider-Man (3D simulator on a track): 2
-Ripsaw Falls (soaking wet log ride, has drops): 3
-Popeye (soaking wet rapids ride): 2
-Jurassic Park (boat ride with dinosaurs and a drop): 2
-Dueling Dragons: 5
-Poseidon's Fury (show): 1
-Sindbad Stunt Show: 1
-Cat in the Hat (spinning dark ride): 2
-Seuss Trolley: 1
-One Fish Two Fish: 1
-Caro-Seuss-El: 1

Thats great everybody, thanks much.
If any other chickens want to put in their .02,keep it coming!

I didn't find Mummy to be bad at all. To me, it was no worse than Big Thunder Mountain. It wasn't as jerky and the drops may have been a tad bigger, but I didn't find it to be intense in a physical sense. Other than RRR(which wasn't open when we went), I rode everything at US. I am a ride chicken, but don't mind the spinning of MIB. We rode that one dozens of times, LOL. At IOA, I only rode Spiderman.

I tried BTM last time and I didnt like it. It was really jerky. I think I will try Spiderman- have to ask the husb and daughter if they rode that when we were there and if they thought Id like it. I vaguely remember not liking MIB. I think Ill maybe try Mummy, Disaster, have done Jaws, its good, maybe try Simpsons and maybe T2. Then maybe Spiderman, maybe Jurassic Park and the Seuss stuff- not the Cat in Hat.

I think we will get Express Pass since we have one day- and do IOA first, so we dont vomit all over after lunch. The express pass should work for us at US in the afternoon tho it'll probably be more crowded than first thing at rope drop.

I think BTM is a problem for some people because it is so jerky, not because of the drops. I hate big coasters, but BTM is one of my favorites, especially in the back row.

Marsha

I might agree with that--it was really jerky, I thought. So much so that I couldnt see if I was enjoying the drop parts of it, and I definitely couldnt enjoy the surrounding enhancements. On my list to try is Splash- Ive seen the big drop and think I could handle that.

So does my assessment revise a list of what people think I could handle at US???

It sounds like I am a lot like the OP. I haven't ever been to Uni or IOA but plan to next summer. Not only do I not like coaster ( for the pp who said that BTM is a training coaster... I won't even ride Goofy's :scared1: ) Not only won't I do coasters but I won't do drops either ( Splash scare the you know what out of me). I can do little drops like Kali and PoC and Maelstrom going backwards doesn't bother me.

You should really try BTM one time. There is only one drop that is of any size at all, and I didn't really get any of that stomach in the mouth feeling except at the very bottom of the hill when I was riding in the back row. In the front rows, by the time there is enough speed to feel the drop, it is over. It is fast and jerky.

I a a big ride chicken and will NOT ride Splash Mountain, or any of the other big coasters. For some reason, I am okay with Space Mountain, although I wouldn't say I LIKE it, LOL. Maybe its because you can't see the drops?

Mummy took a lot of encouragement for me to get on, but it was not too bad a ride. I felt like the biggest drop was bigger than BTM though.
