What can a large person ride at IOA & SW?

I am pretty big ... about a 4x, bottom heavy.

I'm mostly worried about rides with divided seats. I have heard through another site that I won't have too much trouble at USO ... but IOA is a different story.

Like the spiderman ride ... is that bench seats or divided? I found a pic of the ride vehicle on another side but you can't tell if they are divided into seperate seats ... or more of a bench.

Same question on Sea world ... what is nice and roomy?

Looking for divided seats vs bench ...

Thanks!

Any help would be great.

Hi -

I can't remember specifically for sure if Spiderman and Mummy have bench seats or divided, but I'm a fluffy person, and I didn't have any problems on either one. I'm thinking that they have bench seats, because you have to get in and move over for everyone else to get in. I know for sure that Jaws and Juraissic Park are bench seats. You will be fine on those. Men In Black has individual seats. The roller coasters have test seats out in front that you can check out. If you don't actually want to set in one and check it out in front of everyone, you may be able to tell just by walking by and giving it a visual examination. I'm pretty sure that the Hulk and Dueling Dragons have special seats for larger people that the ride attendants can direct you to.

When are you going? I'm going in early August. If you're going after me, I'll check on all the seats and let you know when we get back.

Sea World's roller coaster Kraken has larger sized seats for larger individuals. Journey to Altantis might be a tight fit for larger individuals. The Wild Arctic simulator might cause problems since the seats are relatively small. You can do the non-motion simulator if you have problems. When in doubt, ask an employee.

Both Mummy and Spiderman has divider seats. Mummy has the arm rest that fits like a harness over your shoulder down. They have two tester seats in front of the entrance. I thought it was a little tight and didn't try to get on. I had no problems with Spiderman. Super fun ride. Went about 4 times with my little son. I am a size 2X-3X.

For MIB, you may be more comfortable with an empty seat next to you. You may find these seats a little narrow for you if you are sitting with 2 other adults.

Dr. Doom's freefall has a test seat out front to check as well - this one may be tight since I do not recall any seats made different for larger guests.

You should be fine on Ripsaw and Bluto's (may want an empty seat next to you on this one as well)

I don't know if I misread the answer above, but Mummy does not have the shoulder harness. It has a lap restraint that lowers down from the front and rests against your stomach. I believe the two back rows afford a bit more room than the front two.

The Hulk and Dueling Dragons have seats in the third and sixth rows of each train for larger people. Look for the seats with the double buckle. On ROTM, the back row is where larger people sit if the operators can't see yellow when they close the lap bar. The Mummy does not have a shoulder harness.

Wouldn't be so sure about Ripsaw, cus I'm not too large, a bit chubby but 6'2" or so and I didn't fit too well. Though there isn't a seat "next" to you in Ripsaw, might be thinking of another ride?

Thanks for all the replies. I am going mid-August.

I am a lil confused now still though. LOL.

At disney the only two rides I can think of I had issues with were Test track and the Dinosaur ride ... I got in the seat but it was digging into my sides.

I usually don't have problems with lap bars or shoulder restraints. My big issue is that I carry my bottom weight w-i-d-e and it's not very squishy ... lol ... so divided seats that come up on either side will be the issue. Even if it was a bench seat or connected individual seats with no little arm rest thing or barrier thing and have a shoulder harness (I think Alien Encounter was like this at WDW) I will have no problem. If they are semi-divided as in no barrier so I can use up a lil of the seat next to me I will have my 6 year old sit next to me. We will probably opt to skip the coasters since we have him anyway.

I guess I will just have to do the best I can, any more input would be great and to the person who said they are going soon it would be great if you could check and see on the divided seat thingy.

Thanks

WDWO

The larger seats on Hulk and Dueling Dragons are primarily for people who are larger in the chest area. The seats can be tight if you are bottom heavy. ET will also by a tight squeexe if you carry your weight in the rear. You can try the test seats in front of Hulk and Dueling Dragons to see if you fit.
