I know that you can get birthday buttons at city hall in DL, but what else is avail? I have heard possibly 1st time visitor & anniversary/honeymoon? Are those avail, and what else is? TIA! :hyper:

theres 1st visit, anniversary, just married, and i think there's a citizen of the day one

What is the citizen of the day button for? Anyone know?

We are planning on taking DS2 & DS1 here, hopefully in May. And I wanted to get a first time visit for DS1 (since its his 1st time:) ) and a birthday one for DS2 (since we will be going for his birthday... turning 3:scared: ). I have never been in to pick up buttons there before. Is it pretty easy?

I think the Citizen botton is one that they give away at random, it is not for anything specific.

The buttons are very easy to get, assuming there's no long line to get inside. You can also ask CMs, they sometimes have b'day, etc, buttons. And if you're staying onsite (I don't remember) you can tell the CMs at check-in (or earlier) and they can usually help out.

DS has a collection of the honorary citizen buttons. I think mainly they have given them to him b/c he was being cute, but I know that at least one was given when he was crying after having been knocked to the ground in the main bug's land waterplay area by a much bigger kid (preteen vs 3 year old is never going to be pretty). CM appeared out of nowhere with the button and some stickers (we knew the CM was lurking b/c he had booted out some 20-somethings who were messing around endangering the kids).

I was wondering this as well, this trip is for DS1's birthday but we wont actually be there on his birthday but we are celebrating it there...I wondered if it would be an issue....:confused3

When we were there in November, City Hall was out of First Visit pins and the CM seemed unsure as to when or if they were going to get them back in. :confused3

We did end up getting one for our younger son from a CM at Star Tours.

My older son got an Honorary Citizen pin for answering a trivia question asked by a CM over near the Space Mountain exit.

It seems there's always a CM wondering if they are going to ever get some pin in again, at least from what I read here! :) In December we were asked as we got on Peter Pan if it was our first time on that ride (it was!) and they gave us 1st Visit pins. :confused3 Hmm, maybe THAT is why they are running out! :upsidedow

mama2twoluvbugs, it's NOT an issue. They want to know what you are celebrating, that's it. The birthday pin that I got doesn't even say "it's my birthday today", it just says "Happy Birthday" then there's a spot for the CM to write in the name.

No problem if you arent there on THE day of your birthday/anniversary or whatever, as long as you are celebrating that is good enough.

I got a 1st visit button when I went for the first time in January, but when I took my mom last week, she was given an honorary citizen button

Ooooo, good tip! It will be my sisters first trip! We will stop in and get her a pin!:thumbsup2

We got our Honorary Citizen buttons by taking our best friends to our favorite place. :) We were just walking around and John (my BFF's DBF) had his first visit pin on, we were stopped by a couple of CM's and they asked if it really was his first visit, he said yes and they made us honorary citizens for sharing DL with our best friends. We took the oath and everything. LOL It was really fun and we still wear our buttons proudly. :)

We've also done birthdays on the day and not, it doesn't matter, they still give you the pin.

Family Reunion - gray background with Incredibles on it

You can get the buttons at City Hall and many attractions. It's usually just a case of Cast Members finding out about the celebration through discussion and/or overhearing. It is correct they they don't ask for proof of the event, just your word and a smile.

I'm trying to see if we can go for our 20th anniversary next year and stay on site for the first time ever. Wish they had buttons for higher anniversaries!

PinkBudgie, it's just a generic HA. You could ask to borrow a Sharpie and write in which anniversary it is. :)

Some of my friends knew a CM quite well from their frequent visits to the park and we went to visit her and she gave us all honorary citizen buttons.

i was looking at this thread and another(but cant find it again) before my visit to DL... and somewhere it had said that you get nothing when you have a birthday pin on... just thought i would share that my sister got a pack of tortillas at Cali Adventure park...

Actually, there are some more than just those;
