What bugs me about Star Wars I, The Phantom Menace

I'm still home sick so I'm watching this mess again.

1) Does Queen Amidala have some kind of psychic connection to her body double? Looks to me like the body double is doing all the work. Don't they elect the queen? Do they get to elect her body double too?

2) Anakin built C3PO to help out his mother. His mom is a slave. What does she need a sophisticated protocol droid for?

3) I cringe every time someone calls the kid "Annie." What was wrong with Anakin?

I'm not even going to get into the whole immaculate Jedi conception thing.

So many things were wrong about this movie, including the fact that you hardly got to see Obi-Wan.

and if Qui-Gon taught Obi-wan (through Yoda) that really cool disappearing death trick he used in IV, why doesn't he disappear himself when Darth Maul spears him?

Wasn't the fake body double/queen supposed to be just a figurehead at this point? As for C3PO, maybe he was reprogrammed later on? Annie?

Geesh, none of this makes sense does it? What was Lucas thinking?

It's a shame became Qui-Gon was kind of cool and Darth Maul was VERY cool but it was really such a stupid movie.

Okay, now I'm into #2 and I want to know whose brilliant idea it was to make Jar Jar a senator. Isn't he the one who ends up voting in the Emperor? Good to know politics is the same across the galaxies.
