What book are you reading?

Wow I finally got my copy of Christine Feehan's "Dark Celebration" and it is one awesome story. I was so happy to see that she brought together all of the Carpatian's together at last. If your a big paranormal romance fan you must read her series.

one of my all time favorite books! so much so that I'm hesitant to see the movie. It's in my Netflix queue, but I keep bumping stuff over it.

Go ahead and see it! It was good. Of course, it's not as great as the book. I loved that book!

My grandmother and I both REALLY liked this trilogy! We bought them in hardcover, so we read the last one some months ago. The only thing I'll say...we both thought is that it left you hanging just enough that there could be another series eventually. We both have our fingers crossed!

Just read Sheer Abandon by Penny Vincenzi. It was not as good as the others, but I still liked it. Also could see it going on and on.

I've finished "Heat" and it was pretty good, not outstanding, but I would recommend to anyone who enjoys cooking.
I've started "Paranoia" by Joseph Finder. I'm halfway through and it's really good. I have Finder's "Company Man" on deck. The guy can write.

I LOVED this book - but I also like sci-fi/fantasy stuff too. It's a really interesting premise, and the book shows the good and bad aspects of the time travel on their relationship through the years.

I LOVED THIS BOOK TOO!!! It is my favorite book I have read this year! I actually listened to the audio version which was very good, read by two narrators, a male for Henry and a female for Clare. This book made me cry and it was just wonderful!

Reading and DISing...how I spend my time. I read a lot -- and finally this year I have kept a list of what I read on my calendar -- and I am getting close to the 100 book mark for this year.

I just started Ursula, Under and it is quite good. It's about a family on vacation looking into their roots when their daughter falls into a mine shaft. The book then shifts perspective to the daughter's ancestors and how they brought her into being. It's an interesting look at the extended family (and especially to those you didn't even know were family!).

I have also been on an Octavia Bulter kick this year. I picked up Kindred earlier this year -- and have read all her other books. I have never been a SF fan -- but Octavia Butler is worth making an exception. She brings an African-American, feminist slant to the genre -- quite intriguing!

Some one else mentioned they had read The Ruins and I am curious as to what other people thought. I like a good scary book -- but this one was just gross. It was just a teen slasher book. At the end, I really didn't care what happened to these people.

I am enjoying seeing what everyone else is reading -- I hope to find some suggestions to add to my dwindling stack of books!

I read a LOT. Last 5 books this past week.
Black Order by James Rollins (Great author)
Book of the Dead by Preston and Child ( Great!!!)
Omnivores Dilemma by M. Pollan
Two for the Road by Jane and Michael Stern (Foodies at there best)
The Home by Scott Nicholson

Enjoyed them all.

I really like Octavia Butler. The Parable series is good that she wrote. :thumbsup2

I just started Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. I've already read (and loved) Digital Fortress and Deception Point by him. Now I just need to catch up with everyone else and get The Da Vinci Code.

The last book I read of hers was Fledgling - which was good -- but becuase she died earlier this year -- and because most of her books are parts of a series -- I was worried that I would not be satisfied with the ending. Now having finished it -- I wonder where she wanted to take the characters next! Do you think someone will ever find unfinished manuscripts?!

I just finished reading Divining Women, by Kaye Gibbons.

Next up are:
The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho
In The Presence Of Mine Enemies, by Harry Turtledove
The Interruption of Everything, by Terry McMillan

Not sure which one I'll read first though.
