I just finished "On Writing" by Stephen King. It's a must for the Stephen King fan. He gives you a great insight into his books and his writing style, plus he has great tips for the wanna-be writer.
Next on deck, an oldie, "The Firm" by John Grisham. I've never read it, so I thought that I would give it a try. It's supposed to be very good.

:surfweb:

I'm reading The Tipping Point and am not caring for it too much. I don't think I'm in the mood for non-fictiion right now!

Just finished Hannibal Rising and hated it. It was soooooo boring.

The Voyage Out by Virginia Woolf. I'm almost finished and then I will read Spinning Disney's World, the new book by a former Disney press agent.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. (again) These books are so detailed you can read them more than once and pick up on something new each time.

Oh I love these threads Dana49! I remember reading The Firm and getting hooked on Grisham.

LindsayDunn-I gave my mom Hannibel Rising for Christmas and she didn't enjoy it after the first section.

I am now reading Step on a Crack, James Patterson's newest. Before that I read Water for Elephants which I really enjoyed. I am also skimming through It's All Too Much by Peter Walsh. A nonfiction book about simplifying your stuff.

I just started The Concubine's Tattoo by Laura Joh Rowland. I've only read the first few pages but it's good so far. I finished The Thirteenth Tale earlier this morning and I really enjoyed it.

I've just finished reading 'men in kilts' by Katie MacAlister it was good but i didn't enjoy it as much as some of her other books. 'Blow me down' is my favorite.

I just finished The Hunt for Red October by Clancy.
I am not sure which book to start next, because we are headed to the border next week, and I have a bunch of new books that I ordered waiting for me. So I might just pick a shorter Agathy Christy book to tide me over until I get some of my new ones.

I'm reading HRH by Danielle Steel its okay just didn't have anything else around to read.
I loved The Firm what a great book.

I just started The Black Sun by James Twining. I'm not far enough along to be into it yet, but it looks like it could be a good thriller.

I'm reading "Shadow Dance" by Julie Garwood - not completely into it yet...

Jenny:)

I admit I'm hooked on the Dresden Files books by Jim Butcher! I caught the first episode of the series on Sci Fi and DH and I were hooked! I bought the first and 6th volume at B&N, was unable to find any of the others anywhere, even library. The rest of the series came from B&N.com on Tuesday, just started book 2. They're great and I'm not a sci fi fan. Kind of a Harry Potter for grownups! :thumbsup2

I am reading A Long Way Gone, Memoirs of a Boy Soldier, by Ishmael Beah. Here is a little info about it from http://www.unicef.org/media/media_38333.html. There is more to the article - click on the link if you are interested in reading it.

Former child soldier launches memoirs
NEW YORK, 15 February 2007 – A Long Way Gone, by former child soldier Ishmael Beah, is being launched today at UNICEF. The book is a first hand account of Ishmael’s experiences as a child soldier in Sierra Leone, where he fought for almost three years until he was officially demobilized and placed in a UNICEF-supported rehabilitation centre.

I love Katie MacAlister, but I couldn't even finish Blow me Down. I couldn't get past the whole cyber-space thing. I liked Men in Kilts much better! But I have always dreamed of going to Scotland and finding a big Highland man!:cutie:

Right now I am reading The Dream Hunter by Sherrilyn Kenyon. After being a little disappointed in her last couple of books I am very happy to be enjoying this one so much!

I just ordered A long Way Gone. Is it as remarkable as it sounds? I saw him with Jon Stewart, he is amazing.

Currently I'm reading "The Audacity of Hope" by Barack Obama and next on my list is Sidney Portier's book, "The Measure of a Man". And for those of you wondering, the answer is no. I am not reading books by African American people because its Black History Month. I was just lucky enough to get my hands on them.:thumbsup2

I'm reading Facing Down Evil: Life on the Edge As An FBI Hostage Negotiator by Clint Van Zandt. He's a former FBI agent and can now be seen from time to time on MSNBC. He grew up in my town and his sister is one of my best friends.
