Just got these Yakima Anklebiter racks off of Craigslist

A cheap one from Walmart that fits on the back of our Ford Fusion or Jeep Liberty (if you take off the spare tire). Not the most sturdy rack, but it holds on and will have to do until we install a hitch.

DH, who is an avid cyclist-considered buying a pop-up the other day after seeing a set up like yours YellowXterra. We have a roof mount Yakima system for the wagon and a trunk mount for my mini van. Wish we had a trailer hitch as we need to carry DS's bike these days and soon DD's. The van is too tall and cumbersome top put the roof rack on...

Bike racks, I don't need no stinkin bike racks.
We bought fold up bikes and store them underneath the MH.
If you decide to do the same, make sure you get the model with the big wheels. For us, they work great.

Years ago we had a Thule 4 banger car roof mount but now we use a hitch mount for our cheapo RV bikes. My racing bike rides inside with us in the air conditioned or heated MH.

Can this hold 4 bikes or just 2? We need something for 4 bikes. We have one that goes on the hitch and then the popover hooks to it. We had a LOT of sway last time!

We use one that attaches to the hitch on the back of the motor home. Works just fine for us. The bike trailer (for the little guy) folds up and goes under the bed inside.

I was an avid cyclist of the mountain variety in my years before marriage and children. Alas, I still have a bike, and now my wife does too. They ride on a yakima rack on top of my truck. I don't LIKE this setup, but it's one I already had so we are using it for now. The kids bikes ride in the back of the truck between the 5er and the cab. I am planning to eventually put a reciever on the front of the truck and use a yakima reciever mounted bike rack (which I also already own).

Ellen aka Snow White.
I have Yakima cross bars on the roof of my pop up. I have seen as many as 5 bike racks across the front of a camper. I got the 2 racks off of Craigslist for about 1/3 the cost of new ones. I could add more racks to the bars if I needed to. Does not affect anything towing wize other than you have to remove all bikes before you pop up. I had a 4 bike rack that was a hitch mount and using it and towing it worked but caused a lot of sag and sway.

We are also avid cyclist and use a cheapie walmart type trunk/hatch carrier. It works but I hate it. I saw Performance Bike has a hitch receiver type on sale pretty cheap thru May 2 i think. I may order one of those this weekend.

I use a Thule truck rack to carry our five bikes. Plenty of room for other stuff underneath too:

I actually made my own. The cost of the one I wanted/needed was a lot, so I decided to make my own exactly how I wanted it. It fits perfectly for our camper!:cool2:

Nice Jeeprider09....
We have a 5 place that fits on the back of MH can't remember the name of it. we use to have a 5 place Hollywood.

Back years ago when we got our first new TT we got a bike rack and put a hitch on the back of the TT, about 30 miles down the highway people were beeping at us and pointing, we pulled over and found the weld had broke of the receiver and the bikes were being dragged:scared1:, mine was the only one shredded which was ok,it was old and at least the kids bikes were spared:rolleyes1 it wasn't funny at the time but it sure is now :rotfl:

I remember last year when a rental class c passed us and the bike rack had fallen down. There was a kids bike going back and forth. Don't think it was repairable. They didn't stop til they were at checkin.

:thumbsup2Bet they had a very unhappy child:sad1: good thing they were pulling into Disney:banana:

I just went out and looked and ours is a Swagman XP

We purchased a hitch-mount Allen 4/ bike rack and love it! it's really sturdy and works great either on our Explorer Sport or our MH! We looked at A LOT of racks and settled on the Allen because it was so well made. Well worth the 100 bucks on Amazon!:thumbsup2
