What bag do you use to carry your stuff around the parks?

OK, I know I bring too much stuff, but being the mom, I get stuck carrying all of the essentials and non-essentials. (Ponchos, cameras, snacks, water, etc.)

What is your favorite bag? Backpack? Tote?

I'm definately a backpack girl. But not the mega size one. I like the regular kid sized one. They don't stick out that far to bother many people, but are big enough to hold your items.

TIP: use small clear zip lock bags or clear cosemetic bags inside to "sort" apart your stuff. Very handy. And security won't make you open them. IE= wipes in one, make up, papers (ressies, info, #'s), The I have a couple of coin purses, one with travel checks, one with small bills and change. Then I usually carry umbrella and pounchos too. Connect on outside in hanging clips: hat, sunglass glass, watch. I love those "climber" type clips, they are so handy.

But for e-nites or ee days BIG ride times: I try to just do a belt pack on that time unless it really looks like rain.

I'm going 'bold' this year and have told my family members that I will NOT be their pack mule anymore! I am going to carry a fanny pack and that is it. I will have a trial size of sun screen, a small first aid kit with our mole skin, money, tickets,one poncho for me (SO and dd have to carry their own) and camera.. and that is all I am carrying. All of our purchases will be sent back to the room.

I try to go as light as possible. This year I bought a backpack shaped purse because I needed to carry something. I got it at WalMart for $8, and I liked that I didn't have to carry it over a shoulder.

Last year I bought Nikkie a small backpack purse with Winnie the Pooh and Piglet on it. She carries that every day, and it's big enough to hold essentials such as sunscreen, sunglasses, park passes, etc.

I have a relatively small sized camera bag that I always bring, containing my camcorder, digital camera, and extra film, tapes, and batteries.

I always take my Disney Logo backpack from the Disney Store. It is regular sized with small compartment on front, and small zipper area inside for $, tickets, etc. I also put one of those zippered lanyards around my neck to carry a little money, tickets-room keys, and fastpasses. Very handy- Walmart- under $1 I think, and waterproof.

Backpack. With 3 kids I need it.

I usually carry wipes, ponchos, hand sanitizer, video camera, film camera, water bottles, small snacks from home, sweatshirts or pants if we go during colder times..hmmm I think thats it.

This is the first time we are going without a double stroller which should be interesting.

I use a smaller backpack for ponchos, snacks, camera, etc. My most valuable tip however is this one-- I make someone else carry it! Since I'm the one who organizes all of our vacations I figure its the least they can do!

We used to carry a backpack when we had a stroller to hang it on. We decided not to take it our last trip. Instead my DH wore a fanny pack and DD and I each wore a small purse that went over 1 shoulder and across our chests. We each had a poncho and DD added her autograph book and pressed pennies. DH was in charge of sunscreen & his $$. I carried lip balm, a small container of pills, film (not anymore with digital!), a couple of bandaids, wipes & $$. I take only what we need for that day and refill if necessary before going to bed.

My DDs purse strap doubled as her pin lanyard. You can almost see them in our pic at left.

We use a waistpack and it works great. Holds camera, suntan lotion and other sundri items.

I usually carry a backpack/purse type thing. A little bit bigger than a purse smaller than a backpack. The only downside is I usually get stuck carrying EVERYBODY'S items. But it does come in handy for cameras, umbrellas and ponchos.

We usually carry a backpack. The backpack that I have had for over 15 years. I used it in college, I have taken it on many vacations, and it still looks like new. I bought this canvas wonder on clearance at Walmart in the camping department in 1986. It's been a wonderfully dependable part of my life's journey. Maggie

I wear a fanny pack and carry a backpack. The fanny pack (a small size one) is just big enough to carry my room key, car keys, 1 credit card (just in case something happens to my room key), drivers license, a little money, klenex, wet ones, and glasses. The back pack has DH and my ponchos, jackets, camcorder, exta batteries and memory, and umbrella. I wouldn't give up my back pack for anything!

In choosing a backpack look for 3 things.

1. Light color, that way it won't absorb the heat.

2. Make sure it is comfortable to wear!

3. Make sure it is not rigid, the material is moveable.

Normally I go bagless and just use my pockets. Which really is not the safest thingto do. I constantly check to make sure I have everything me.
When we stay all day I take the camera case.

This week at WoD in DTD, I saw a very handy item I almost bought.
It was like a cross between a fanny pack and a cloth wallet. It had mesh pockets, and slots for cards etc.
Really just the right size. I may break down and buy one. A camera would not fit in it though.

My sister carried a small backpack. She said she learned long ago if she carries anything of any size, she becomes the pack mule.

I personally think back packs are a pain for all. The problem is they are on people's backs and they have no idea what or where they are hitting or what is going on with their bag. I get smacked with backpacks much more than strollers.

We've used both fanny packs and back pack - we decided we prefer the fanny packs even if it means packing lighter

Well this trip I am trying something new. I have a lightweight travel vest that I purchased at a Woolrich outlet store. It has a ton of pockets for just about anything, including a camera. I loaded everything that I thought I would need, and it didn't look like I was a pack mule. I'm wearing this on the plane along with a tiny belt pack that will hold my cellphone and a couple other essentials. I just have to take off the vest and fanny pack and run them through the airport scanners. I think even with the heat, the vest will be better than carrying a heavy pack on my shoulders. The last 3 times I came home with sore shoulders and believe it or not blisters where the strap rested. Since my DH will not be with me, I had to find a way to carry everything with out killing myself.

I use a Winnie the Pooh backpack that I sling on the back of my wheelchair. It holds our maps and camera and on this trip my folding crutches and normally we take a washcloth in a ziplock bag in case the head gets to anyone.
Also we put our cheap $1 raincoats in it.

Last time we used a big backpack we got from Gap. Very "limp" backpack. I love it, but at the same time it's hard to find things in it. Two trips ago I bought a small backpack/purse. I think I will use that again.
