I'm looking for opinions on the best baby carriers to use in Disney. I will have a 6mth old when we go in May and I know it is going to be hot while we are there. Does anyone have recommendations for carriers that won't make us too hot while carrying him and is comfortable for the both of us. I also don't want to spend a lot of money, as I will probably only use it during this trip. Right now I just bought the Infantino Flip, but not sure I'm going to keep it. Has anyone used this one before?

I used a sling from hotslings.com and loved it! I used it all the time...don't know why you would only use it for a vacation, lol...or any kind of carrier for that matter. They're so much easier, I can't wait to use mine again. Good luck searching!

I really enjoy the Ergo. The straps are well padded and don't criss-cross across your back which I find makes it slightly cooler.

My DD is 2yo and I still use it all the time.

I agree, ergo or beco, well worth the money. We still use it with our 2.5 year old & when she was younger it was used daily.

LOVE my Ergo. Just used it at Silver Dollar City a few weeks ago and it made for a very easy manageable visit.

I love my Scootababy hip carrier. I used it in Disney with my 7 month old and it was great.

I would say for a six month old..a nice ring sling would be great. They are totally adjustable and so easy for quick trips or for lines...and you wouldn't have to take the baby off of you on the rides. Baby can cuddle, and can still see everything because they will be on your hip. IF you can find one made from solarveil you can wear them right in the pool too!!

I have 3 kids but have never used a sling. We used my Jeep infant carrier. I had a different brand and could never figure it out. The jeep one is easy the baby could face front or back.it was also a lot cheaper than baby bjorn

I would love to try the Ergo Performance .... it is supposed to be cooler. And to the OP...try babywearing...it is the greatest thing. DD is napping on me right now. I would be lost without mine. You can also go to thebabywearer, babycenter or diaperswappers to find one used and save a little bit of money.

Please do not get a snugli/bjorn type carrier....

I wanted to post these are the most comfy ring slings.. http://www.sleepingbaby.net/index.php
Comfy Joey are very comfortable too. I agree with the pp about these sites
http://thebabywearer.com/ , http://diaperswappers.com/ They have a FSOT (for sale or trade) forum where you can buy (or sell) gently used carriers. I have gotten some great deals on those sites and they are loaded with info. I also agree with not purchasing a front carrier like a Bjorn..they really arent good for the baby...they can get overstimulated very quickly and those carriers do not allow them to hide their faces.
Like i said IF you can find a solarveil ring sling that would be the best option for WDW!!!

I am also going in May with a 6-month-old. I purchased an Ego Sport, as it a appeared to be the most lightweight material of the Ergos. I got the light blue color vs. the black so that it wouldn't get as hot. That being said, I'm still thinking it'll be hot. I was told that wearing baby on your back is cooler than wearing on the front. Dress baby in a simple cotton onsie and wear a tank top for yourself.

We used a bjorn when DS was 9 months because I inherited one from a friend. I liked that he could face out to look at things and face in to nap. My DH actually wore him the most, and we'd just go on rides like that.

I was never one for slings. I had one and used it when DS was less than 3 months during the evening cranky hours so I could cook dinner. But I am tiny (not quite 5 foot and 100 lbs) and after about 3 months, I just didn't like the slings. Didn't feel supporty enough for me. I don't think I could have done that all day in a park even when he was small.

Ergo all the way! I used it for DS2 when he was a baby and now use it for DD. She's 5 months old now. I even put DS in it last week and was still comfy!
