What attractions to do other than parks?

My questions:

What are your best non-disney/non-universal related things to do while in the Orlando area?

What or where do the locals find their fun?

We've been to Florida bunches of times and I am looking to do the non-ordinary this time around.

One day we already know we are going to the Harry P. Leu Gardens.

Can anyone suggest what else to do?

We went to the Hard Rock Vault in January -it was ok and only takes about an hour to visit. Daytona is not that far and Daytona USA is fun if you have never visited.:)

If you like reptiles, Gatorland is worth a trip. Seaworld is also fun but that takes a whole day. This year we are going to try Ripley's but that will only take about two hours.

I like going to the Outlets in and around Orlando! The WDW store offers many bargains.......

We've already done:
Daytona USA
Sea World
Several water parks
Shopping.....always can do more of that :)
Some dinner shows

THanks for the suggestions though

Anyone else have other ideas?

There are a fair number of cultural attractions in this part of FL that most tourists don't see. My favorite of them is the Morse Museum of Art in Winter Park, it has the largest collection of Tiffany stained glass in the world, among other things.

This page from the Orange County Public Library has lots of links to local museums and festivals: http://ww2.ocls.lib.fl.us/favorites/orlando2.html
