I am taking my son down Memorial Day weekend and a few days thereafter. Thinking about getting APs for Universal since we will be going back in October and in December. What attractions would you recommend for him?

Also, what is the height requirement for Spiderman? He LOVES Spiderman and is a bit of daredevil so I know he would like that ride. He is 43 inches tall so I am hoping he makes the cut off.

At 43" he makes just about all of the cut-offs. My son was 42" when we were down last month and could do everything at Universal Studios, and everything at IoA except Hulk, Dueling Dragons, Dr Doom, and Ripsaw Falls. Spiderman's restriction is 40".

He should have lots of fun plenty to see and do:jester:

These parks are so aimed at 4 year old boys. Mine, 6 and 4, love this place. Even more than Disney.

When he reaches 44" he will be able to ride Ripsaw.

Other height requirements:

48" for Mummy

52" for Doom

54" for Hulk and Dueling Dragons

42" is for JP River Adventure, Popeye & Blutos, and MIB

40" for BTTF, Jimmy Neutron (moving seats), and Spider-Man

36" for Woody's Coaster, Flying Unicorn, and P-Flyers

And I would recommend the APS you are thinking about getting. You get lots of discounts in the parks with them, so they are a great investment.

How strict are they actually on the height restrictions,, if my daughter is close, within an inch or two will they "look the other way" and let her in?

They are strict with the height requirements since it is a safety issue. Make sure that you measure with her shoes on. One hint, if she is close make sure that you are not carrying her, that is a red flag to them to measure carefully. A couple of times I was carrying my son (because he was exhausted) and they just kind of swooped down on us to measure. lol

Last April my son was barely 40" with his shoes on. The first time on Spiderman he was not measured, which I thought was strange since he was barely tall enough for the ride. Other times he was measured, so count on your daughter being measured.

Multiple height checks are also very common, so your daughter may be measured 2 or 3 times.

Thanks for the info, (if you see a little girl in 5 inch pumps, that is my daughter)

Sketchers might do the trick. My son still thinks that he's going on Ripsaw Falls, but I've warned him that he's not tall enough. :(
