What Attractions Do You Skip?

MK - Swiss Family Treehouse, Tea Cups, Tom Sawyers Island

Epcot The Land, Living Seas, Body Wars

MGM - Sounds Dangerous, HISTK Playground, Indiana Jones definately needs to be updated

AK - Dino Land - except for the ride Dinosaur, which we love!! Also Rafiki's Planet, Pocohantas

Hmmm...There are several attractions that we always seem to skip. Some intentional and some just as an oversight.

MK - Swiss Family Treehouse (Don't care for), AE (kids too young, line seems too long), Astro Orbiter (never had the urge), and Tiki Birds (not sure why).

Epcot - Most country films (afraid kids won't sit through) and Universe of Energy (can't stand Ellen...cringed throughout saving Nemo)

Ak - Kali River Rapids (wife doesn't like getting wet)

MGM - Mermaid (wife & kids do it while I do R&R and TOT...can't stand the Mermaid show)

Wow, isn't it interesting how some people's favorite attractions are other people's least favorite? Attractions I've skipped EVERY time are:

Hall of Presidents
American Adventure
Country Bears
Ellen's Energy
Those racing cars in MK (sorry, can't remember the name for the life of me, you know the ones on the track...)
Tiki Birds

I'm not quite sure why I haven't seen them yet but I'm going to try and get to everything I've missed at least once when we go in October. - Nancy

MK:
Liberty Belle River Boat (frankly not interested)
Haunted Mansion (too intense for DS - 3 1/2 yrs old)
Alien Encounter (will go on my "solo" or adults trip one day)
Carosel of Progress/Timekeeper (not voluntary - never open when we are there!!!)
Ariel's Grotto - DS not interested
Donald's Boat - no water=boring
Country Bear Jamboree - DS does not like shows :earseek:

Epcot:
Body Wars (DS too young even though hit 40+")
Cranium Command (DS thinks building is ugly )
Universe of Energy
HISTA

AK:
It's Tough to be a Bug (DS not ready for this)
Boneyard (DS has no interest)
Tarzan Rocks (DS again with the no shows thing)

MGM:
Due to DS and shows thing, have barely touched MGM so would not be fair to comment

Thanks

MK - Tiki Bird Show (awful)
AK - Conservation Station (boring)
MGM - Playhouse Disney, Sounds Dangerous
Epcot - Innoventions

MK: Tiki Birds(I think you'd have to be on something to enjoy it;) )
AK:no say,never been there yet
Epcot:Ellen's Energy(too long)
MGM:Nothing(too much of a film buff)

Disney Studios- Sounds Dangerous

MK- Swiss Family Tree House

AK- Skipped AK all together a few weeks ago. This is my least favorite park. When we do go to AK, we only spend approx 3 hours there.

I skip Alien Encounter. It's just lame to me.

MK- Tomorrowland Speedway (it reeks and the darn things sound like lawnmowers!), Time Keeper and Hall of Presidents (unless I am in desperate need of a nap). :)

AK- I don't think there is anything at this park I would purposely avoid.

MGM- Again, I don't think there is anything I would purposely avoid, just things I may not do if I was lacking time or lines were long.

EPCOT- Universe of Energy (did this one Saturday for the first time in about 4 years, won't need to do it for another 10 years, at least. ;) )

MK - Tiki Birds ( it is really annoying!)

Epcot -

AK - Primeval Whirl haven't done it yet but it doesn't look that good

MGM - Sounds dangerous nothing really fun about it!

Magic Kingdom:
Alien Encounter - went once, didn't enjoy it
Mad Hatter teacups - my stomach can't take it
Astro Orbiter - same as Mad Hatter
Country Bears - not really a priority
Tiki Birds - kind of boring

Epcot:
Ellen's Energy - can't stand Ellen DeGeneres
Body Wars - the stomach thing again

MGM:
Star Tours - stomach

AK:
Kali River Rapids - don't want to get drenched
Rafiki Planet Watch - not sure why; just have never been

Sure is interesting how different people like/dislike such a variety of attractions. It cracks me up that my stomach does fine on the big thrill rides (ToT, RnRC, etc.) but won't stand for those darn spinning teacups.

There are a very few rides I wont go on. MK Peter Pan- It feels like you will fall out Dumbo- To long of a line. Mickeys Toon Town Fair- Don't have young kids any more. Epcot The Living Seas- Boring. Mgm- We love every thing. animal kingdom The Simba Show- we really did't like it. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :smooth: :jester:

Maybe I'm the only parent in the world who does this but unless the attraction is dangerous for them, my DD's age 4 go on all the attractions that DH & I want to go on, in return they get to go on the ones they want to go on. Seems like the poster who posted the thread below only goes on what his/her child wants to on and forget about the rest. My view is, What about what the Parent wants to do? We try to teach our children in our family that life is not all about them and what they want and they need to realize Mom and Dad like to do things too; at the same time we respect that they have things they want to do too and we make sure that they get to do those things as much as possible.

If I want see a show, you bet that I'll be at that show and my kids will sit quietly, if they choose not to honor Mom & Dad by sitting nicely on the few things I'd like to go on, then , no attractions for them either. Thats just how our family works. I just cant imagine forgoing all the beautiful shows at Disney because my daughters had no interest, if I have an interest, it doesnt matter if they do or not, they go, because I want to go and we go and let them do all the things they want to do as well, it's fair exchange. Disney is not just for the kids, its for us Parents too. Don't pass by the shows, they are a much of the beauty and Magic of Disney. JMHO, Not flaming, Just an opinion. Sorry if this is off topic, I just didnt get this post, I guess we are just different.

Magic Kingdom
We always skip the Swiss Family Treehouse--did it once, no need to see it again. I've never done Alien Encounter or Astro Orbiter. I'll never go in Alien Encounter but might try Astro Orbiter later this month.

Animal Kingdom
It's Tough to be a Bug is about the only attraction I don't care for at AK--although I will go if everyone else wants to.

EPCOT
Living Seas is awful since they removed the ride portion. This is a definite must NOT do.

MGM
Sounds Dangerous. We've never had a reason to go to Disney Playhouse, but will be going with our grandson this year. Maybe we'll get a chance to see it then.

MK:
Alien Encounter- No way! I'm freightened of these type rides.
Swiss Family Treehouse- Haven't the stamina to climb it

Epcot:
Ellen's Energy Universe- To long

MGM:
Rock N Rollercoaster- Don't do upside rides
Tower of Terror- The drops scare me

AK:
NONE

MK - Most of Fantasy Land now that the kids are older. The wait for Dumbo, Tea Cups, etc. is just too long for us. Toontown. Astro Orbiter.
Epcot - Living Seas
AK - Primeval Whirl
Studios - Playhouse Disney
The more we visit, the more selective we become, concentrating on OUR favs.

MK - Teapots (Whirl & Hurl) & Small World (Can't stomach this ride @ Disneyland unless its Gay Night - certainly cant do it at WDW)

Epcot - Body Wars (hurl), Making of Me (umm.. EEEWWW), Ellens Energy Thing (Too long)

MGM - Star Tours (can see it at Disneyland), Anything related to Doug (boring), Beauty & Beast show (acting just plain awful!)

AK - Pocohantas Show (boring - skunk good though)

MK:

It's a small world: After about what seems like 30 rooms and
the song being repeated over and over.......well, let's just say
I was ready to wade, swim, or crawl back. BTW, how many
times does it take before the song is no longer "cute" to ya'll?
