I was gone. I came back. I was buried with home projects but got far enough ahead to have alittle leisure time again. This forum works well because I can do it while I multi-task.
I actually have been posting on another Disney related photo board, but the traffic volume is too low. Maybe I need to invite Groucho over there so we can argue about camera brands. I did get into one argument there with a banned former member of this board over the use of UV filters, but it just wasn't the same.
I always love photographing Thunder Mountain at night. But...I have yet to get all of the elements (exposure, focus, composition) right in one photo. Could be that I'm trying to keep my kids from tugging at me while balancing the camera on a post while trying not to cause camera shake! I'm hoping my night photography improves when the kids get older!

Now, if my memory serves me correctly, he/she/it/whatever(never got the truth there) was a former disgruntled Kodak DSLR user. I believe that he/she/it was now a Canon user. That is if anything was to be believed from that person anyway.

That shot looks pretty familiar... Here's my attempt.
I wasn't really overwhelmed with how it turned out. Maybe HDR is in order - I do have a horizontal shot I took with the tripod in two different exposures. I found Splash Mt to be similarly tricky to get a really pleasing night photo of. The one that made me really batty was trying to get a tripod shot of the new PotC signage, with the skeleton in the crow's nest - it kept coming out blurry until I realized, duh, that the sail was flapping in the wind. Oooooops.....
As for the "banned user", I guess I'm glad that I came along late enough that I have no idea who this person is. I do know about a few people banned from the DVC boards though.
One of our family's favorite rides is Peter Pan and I don't think I've ever seen (and certainly have not attempted) a natural light photo in there. I guess when someone finally comes out with a sensor capable of ISO 32,000 or some such, we'll get some good PP shots.
I did a few Splash Mt shots with my non-water-sealed DSLR, including down the big drop. I did continuous shooting on the way down then quickly tucked the camera under my jacket when the waters came in.
