I've been to Disney so many times as a child and growing up. I recently got married and my husband and I are going to take a trip this August. If I know myself, we'll go on the same rides we always do, but there are some attractions I have always skipped. What are some of the attractions you skipped during your visits, finally tried and now LOVE? Thanks.

Hall of Presidents! Now granted it's probably not something we will repeat every year we did try it this year and thought it was great. The animatronics are fabulous! Another one we tried for the first time this year was Peter Pan's Flight. Everytime we were near the ride the line was long, etc. This year it was our first ride, about a 10 min wait but WORTH IT! It's now my 2nd favorite ride. If you like the movie, it's an especially good ride. DH also agreed on these 2 rides being something we should have tried sooner. Hope this is helpful!

I put off riding Tower of Terror the first few years it was there. The kids kept trying to convince me but I had seen the Demon Drop in Cedar Point and just couldn't help but equate the two. I finally gave in and tried TOT and it is my all time favorite ride. I could ride it over and over. (I don't do Demon Drop and never will.)
TOT is awesome!

Since I'm a big chicken and refuse to ride rollercoasters I never would ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It looked too scarry!!! Last trip I was brave and gave it a try. I love it! It doesn't go too fast and is fun!

Carousel of Progress . . .:D

We never even knew it was there until our July 2002 trip . . .Although dated, it was a really good attraction. Hopefully when we go back June 20th it'll be up and running.

We did COP for the first time this past Dec. We also saw the one with Robin Williams as the robot, sorry I can't remember what the name of it is.

I love those two attractions! When we got to Savannah for our family Christmas the first thing my FIL asked me was, "Did you see that attraction that shows the future?" My DD started singing "There a great big beautiful tomorrow"!

Loved it!

I never miss the HM!

Another vote for the Tower of Terror.
My son had wanted to go on for several years but I would not give in.
Finally last June I tried it and could not believe how much I enjoyed the experience. I can't even describe it to anyone who has not tried it. The special effects are great and the drops awesome! We went on numerous times and every ride was better than the one before it.
We will be returning in a couple of weeks and this will definitely be our first ride.
From being afraid to try it and then to fall in LOVE with this ride. Truly amazing!

My DH and I have not been on any drop or rollercoaster ride since we were teenagers. Everyyear we have been able to use the height requirement as an excuse. Last Nov I took a trip with my DD(7), She made me to go with her on space mountain, splash mountain, big thunder mountain, star tour, and test track. I was lucky enough she skipped Tower of terror and Rock and roll rollercoaster. I did like the splash mountain and big thunder mountain. But I know this time I have no choice in the matter, She wants to go on everything. So this Nov when you see a little girl pulling her mom's hand saying don't worrie mom it will be over before you can blink or you will survive through it you know who.

Tom Sawyer's Island. Although we have 2 kids, and have been 7 times since their birth, we never did spend any time there. We did this last week when we were in Magic Kingdom and had a great time exploring the island.

I'm not exactly a "spring chicken" anymore ;) but I do pride myself in being "young" in the mind!! My son calls it something else but we'll let that go for now!

I would never even think of going upside down and over and under. Well I tried RoRC on our last trip and let me tell you I can't wait till August to do it again; and again; and again....... :)

If you're around the Studios in Mid-August and see this "50 something" woman sitting on the side wall in a stupor, ignore her....it's me!! :) :) :) At least I'll have a smile on....:D

Hall of Presidents
Maelstrom

I can't believe I missed those rides all the times I've been there!
;)

I'm so glad I read this thread, because I've always been a bit nervous about ToT. It was only being built when I was at WDW in '93, but I overheard a lot of the CMs and other guests talking about how it would be this super-scary ride where you were dropped in an elevator. Since I was 13 then, and hadn't quite grown to have the rollercoaster obsession that I have now, suffice it to say that I was ECSTATIC that ToT hadn't been built yet, and thus I wouldn't have to go on it with my touring group! But I'm so glad I gave the idea a chance, because it sounds like you all have really enjoyed it! Now I can't wait!

Thanks again, DIS! :D

COP and Hall of Presidents. As a child, I never experienced either of these. Now, they are not to be missed. Classic Disney attractions, in my book.

Tower of Terror is definatly my ultimate skip attraction that I love now. I didn't go on the ride for six years and then after I tried it, it became my favorite attraction in any Disney park. Big Thunder Mountain also ranks pretty high as does the Expo Hall at MK.

This may be silly, but I really love the Tiki Bird show now. I remember seeing it years ago and thought it was boring but it's very cute now.

I had always skipped splash mountain for one reason DROP. I finally got the courage one night after work to attempt to face my fear. I kept telling myself that if the ride had a 5 min or less wait I would ride. Well low and behold I got there and the posted wait was 5 minutes so off I went. The line stopped just above where the loading area was and I got a little scared but I kept reminding myself that I would love it. I requested either 2 or 3 row because I knew I didn't want to see what was coming LOL I had a panic attack right when you get to the dark place before the drop and wanted/begged to get off but I knew I couldn't. Of course I screamed the whole way down. I got off and was like what was I so scared off. Now I will ride this ride as many times as I can.

One that was updated and I loved it was ellen's energy adventure.

Believe it or not....the WDW Railroad! I haven't been on it since 1978 and I recently went on it in Feb. of 2002! I LOVED this "ride".:o I make sure I go on it every time I am at the MK!;) :bounce: Also, the "new" figment ride at Epcot, and I rode Splash Mountain at night in Nov. and had a BLAST!;)

I know I'm gonna hear it but we always skipped the Haunted Mansion.... not really because we didn't think we would like it but because we never really knew it was there!!!! We "discovered" it 4 years ago.
