What attraction did Turtle Talk with Crush replace?

Hi~
The title says it all...

I've been reading the Unofficial Guide, and there's nothing in there about Turtle Talk with Crush. I've found out about Crush just by reading these boards.

In planning my trip, I'm wondering if the UG has an attraction included in their touring plan that is no longer around- since Crush took over. Also...I'm just curious... :)
My trip isn't until October and I'll have the newer UG by then, but I can't help but planning now! :goodvibes

Thanks!

I am not an Epcot expert, but I can't think of anything that it replaced...its such a small little area that it really seems like an afterthought..but it is a great attraction so don't miss it!

There was not a specific "attraction" formerly in the space now occupied by "Turtle Talk".

Great, thanks!
I didn't want to go down expecting to go on some ride/attraction and then find that it had been closed.

Well, just out of curiosity, what ride/attraction were you "expecting" to FIND (or MISS) at the Living Seas?

I don't recall any after the "Seacabs/Reef" ride closed a few years back.

You must be looking at an old UG. Crush is in both the 2005 and 2006 editions. I threw away all my earlier editions, so I can't tell you if he was in the 2004 edition, but that's when the attraction opened.

Ha-Ha this thread reminds me of going to the Living Seas and after getting off the hydrolators I'm looking for the ride vehicles. I thought I was in a Hitchcock movie becuase their were none to be found! I finally had to go the Information desk. Obvioussly I had not done my homework on these boards!

Hi~
I'm not quite sure (yet) what ride/attraction I would be expecting.
I only started my tour planning for my October trip. Didn't look through all of the rides or touring plans yet. Just noticed on here about Crush, so wondered (before even looking at any other attractions at Living Seas) if there had been something closed. That's all.

I have the 2006 Edition.
I've been looking under the index under Crush and also looked under Turtle Talk with Crush. Didn't find it under either.

When I read the Epcot Chapter, it does say:
Not to be Missed at Epcot
Futureworld:
Spaceship Earth
Living with the Land
Honey, I Shrunk the Audience
Test Track
Mission: Space
Body Wars
Soarin'
Cranium Command

No mention of Crush...

I do now notice it under the heading of The Living Seas. It's listed just in the third paragraph (out if five).

Basically, the idea of Crush was understated in the UG. All that's written under the Touring Tips is:
"You are given the option when you enter to see the movie first or proceed directly to the marine exhibits. If you've not seen the movie, do so- it's short and very well done. If you're a Living Seas veteran, head straight for the exhibis. The exhibits are the best part of The Living Seas".

After looking through the index, and skimming through the list of rides/attractions- I overlooked it in the UG. I see it now.

I did the same thing! Now don't think you are in the twilight zone when you go back - the ride vehicles are returning!!

I did Turtle Talk for the first time in February. I really dug it and it seemed like everyone in there liked it as well. Nothing that I imagined it would be like. I recorded it too when I was there and just recently played it on our Disney show. Check out my website for the video, its free.

I believe there use to be a talking underwater robot type thing. That did a little information show. it was one of those walk in and hear it a bit and move on deals. Kind of like that bird and robot arm show that use to be at World of Motion.

Turtle talk with crush is great! I saw it for the first time in March and loved it!! That was my first time @ epcot since 1993... i have been to DW since but never back to Epcot... didn't like it when i was a kid.. but now that i have been there as an adult i will be heading back there... Turtle talk will be the first attraction i see again!

I concur. I believe the robot's name was Jason. My memory is failing, but isn't that area also where the cartoon with Atlas holding up the Earth was?

There was always "something THERE" (where Crush is now), but it was not an "attraction".

Its like asking what attraction was replaced when they built Splash Mountain in MK.

The "space" was there in Frontierland, but it didn't have an "attraction" on it.

It depends on your definition of an "attraction". The old undersea robot and exhibit area were a part of SeaBase Alpha, which was an attraction. So I'd say that yes, Turtle Talk replaced part of an attraction.
