What are your "wedding" shoes going to be?

so it can't be taken in at the waist? I'm sure you've already asked a seamstress...

how tall of shoes do you need?

Here are a few ideas:

wedding tennies

I like this one:

and this one:

what about this:

If you're not used to heels then you will have to practice. Also, buy shoes that are leather, put in some inserts (like dr. scholl's gel inserts), and maybe rubber soles...also, beware of cheap shoes (although some cheap shoes are comfy)...

good luck on your search!

Wow! Thanks Cryssi you are such a sweetheart :goodvibes

That wedge heel on the second one looks good.

The seamstress I took it to won't touch my dress with a ten foot pole b/c it is handmade and embroidered from head to toe. She said it can't be let out, taken in, hemmed, or bustled b/c it would ruin the embroidery and it can't be made to match up.

She said I need at LEAST 3 inch heels to keep it from dragging. I just want to to sweep the floor, not make its own train in the front, lol ;)

Hey Cryssi!

Do you think I could get away with these in January? I'm pretty sure I could walk in them. The thing is they couldn't show at all b/c my dress is REALLY formal. I would look nuts to show these shoes with my dress. Would it be too cold for me to wear them

no problem! :) also, are you wearing a crinoline under? oh, I just went and looked at your dress and it's awesome! anyway, if you were planning to wear a crinoline, that could pop your dress out a bit...

I wanted heeled wedding tennies for the reception, but being as cheap, um frugal? as I am, I wanted to make them myself (btw, I do realize that "frugal" and "Disney wedding" don't go together - :rotfl: ). Anyway, I couldn't find the heeled shoes that I wanted. If I only had 1 pair of comfy shoes, I probably would have gone with something from that site.

sure! those would work. hey, since no one is going to see your feet anyway, you could always wear toeless pantyhose if your legs are cold... maybe you could put some sequins or rhinestones on the straps just for fun.

the only thing you might want to consider about flip flops are the flip-flop sound when you walk...

hmmmmm didn't think about that. I'm good in flip flops. The platform would work b/c its even height in the front and back. My problem with heels is that I'm standing on tippy toe. However, the flippy floppy sound would be pretty obvious, lol

I still haven't decided if I'm wearing a crinoline. When I put the dress on it doesn't seem to need one that much, but my sister insists that it does. The jury is still out on that one

I know this sounds crazy but my FSIL and I were talking and she suggested for comfort to go barefoot then I could wear flip flops when I absolutely needed shoes. I of course would have a french pedicure with maybe hidden mickey rhinestone decoration on my big toe but I'm starting to think that she has an idea- and I could let my flowergirl and my MOH and bridesmaid do the same. Does this sound tacky as I am one who hates wearing shoes but loves getting pretty pedicures every other week?

My daughter, Kate, is rather tall and slender, so her wedding gown didn't have a lot of extra length. For her wedding in January, she opted for "In Hiding" white iridescent leather flats from Kenneth Cole NY's Italian line. They're visible in this photo:

She was able to wear these for the entire night, through the ceremony and dancing, with no discomfort.

I'm average height, and I'm wearing a tea length gown for our vow renewal, so I wanted a little bit of heel. I selected "Glo-Ambiance" satin whites from Stuart Weitzman:

I've been wearing them around the house to break them in, but that probably isn't even necessary. They're very comfortable. HTH! ~Ev :)

Sajetto - I have the same flip flops, they don't make any noise, so not to worry. I have my llllooovvveerrlllyyy Jimmy Choos for the ceremony and pic's and then im changing into these.

Ive got a shoe with a heel about 3 inches, I have to have that because of embrodery on my dress, but think that for standing for about 1 hour it should be ok.

just joined so congrats to everyone thats getting married

Hey Cryssi! Where did you find these sandals? They are exactly what I'm looking for. I need the height because I'm only 5'1" and my fiance is 6' 4". But I can't wear high heels because I had a pin put in my foot so my foot won't bend enough for them. Could you PM me with the link or tell me the store, please?

sajetto found those! maybe she can tell you... :) I have seen them around, though... :)

I'm wearing satin strappy sandals from Davids with a low heel, maybe about 1 inch or so. I figured they were a nice compromise between comfy and elegant, and I won't tower over DH2B who is not super tall.

In my sister's wedding in September we're all wearing flip flops (which I don't think really go with the dress, but whatever :rotfl: ). She found them at myglassslipper.com, which has lots of good choices.

I wore a pair of white high heels for my wedding but I also bought of a pair of nike slip ons and my mom decorated them with sequins and dressed them up with a fancy lace for the shoe laces I wore them after the wedding. Just and idea at least your feet will be comfy.
