What are your MUST-DOs at AK?

The mecaw show in front of the tree of life is great too. I don't know what it's called but my kids were mesmerized last time. I agree with the trails too. I used to love the african drummers but i've heard they got budget cut.

Besides the obvious headliners... FOP, Kilamanjaro and EE, what are some other must see things in AK? Traveling with three children and I have the least experience in this park. Would love to hear what people like best! Thanks!

We also love the Finding Nemo show to get out of the heat and the show is fantastic

Festival of the lion king as everyone else mentioned. We really enjoyed the safari at dusk. We saw so many more animals at that time.

It was completely dark. Rivers of Light was actually going on when we went to board.

I recommend timing the Safari right for the season you will be there. It's 100% different experience if all the animals are happy & active.

So what's a good time? I am only going for DAH to AK on our next trip. Sunset is around 6:45, and I'll probably be entering AK right around 7. We have a FP for the Safari until 7:40. I'm hoping this will be a good time to see some activity!

Festival of the Lion King is incredible. It's Tough to be a Bug is always a good time, plus getting to wind down there at the base of the tree and see all the cool details. I loved Na'vi River Journey. All of the animal experiences are great, including the Up! bird show. If there at night, definitely the Tree Awakening is worth hanging out and waiting for. And I haven't seen it mentioned, but we really loved Rivers of Light when we saw it this past summer for the first time.

If you're going to grab a bite to eat at AK, I like Flame Tree BBQ and sitting out there under the pavilion on the water. Only if you're not bothered by birds...sometimes LARGE birds, hanging out with you while you eat.

Speaking of birds...Kevin! Must always look for Kevin and get pictures of her.

Man. I do love Animal Kingdom. I'm pining for a visit now.
