I've built in time to our MK days (trip is April 15-21, with 11y.o. and 6y.o) so that we can really explore Main St. But is this even a thing people do? I've only been there once before over 6 years ago and all I remember is a few stores.

So your recommendations are very welcome!!

We’ll be there at the same time! If anyone needs a haircut the barber shoppe is a fun place to go. I took DS who was 16 at the time there and he enjoyed it. It’s on the left when you walk in. We also like to look at the windows at the beginning on the left, not sure if they still have them with the recent construction that went on. On the right side they have the glass making shoppe, it’s really neat to see stuff being made. And of course, there is all the shopping. I’m sure there’s probably a lot more I don’t know about. Enjoy your trip!!

Main Street Vehicles are a priority for us this upcoming trip. We are usually rushing to rides at rope drop, but scheduled a morning to go at a slower pace this time and ride them.

What are the main street vehicles?
They are old-timey vehicles that take you from Town Square to the castle (or vice versa) in the mornings. Today they run from 8-10:15.
there are a couple different ones:
  • Horse-Drawn Street Car, an old-fashioned trolley pulled by a horse
  • Jitney, an early automobile without a roof
  • Fire Engine, a replica of the very first fire trucks
  • Omnibus, a gas-powered, open-air 2-story bus

All of the Main Street entertainment! Main Street Trolley Show, Citizens of Main Street, Dapper Dans, ride the Main Street Vehicles, listen to Casey's Corner pianist, take your time window shopping and visiting the buildings surrounding Main Street Square. And I can't forget one of my favorites - the flag retreat.

We were able to ride one of the Main St. Vehicles last trip and it was great. They were actually running before the opening show, so we got to ride one up toward the castle and didn’t miss out on any prime morning time to ride attractions. It was a lot of fun and something I had wanted to do for a long time!

We regularly hopped the trolley or another vehicle right at RD when the old train station show opened the park but since the new RD at the hub is operational we've not had the chance.

Trolley Show, I look through all the shops my favorite is Jewelry store, crystal store. Got to get a frap at Starbucks and stop into the candy store and sometimes huby gets a hair cut at the barber shop

Get silhouettes done of the kiddos. Inexpensive, fun to watch, easy to carry, and the price is for 2 cut at the same time so great grandparent gifts. Ask the artist to sign and date each one There's usually a caricature artist in the same area if you prefer those.

We've had silhouettes cut for the kids since our first trip in 1987. Now the grandkids also get their turn. Makes a great memento wall.
