What are your "hidden gems" to eat at?

Lets hear some of the "off the beaten path" and other places that don't get talked about much on the Dis. I'll start with Casey's Corner and the Grand Floridian Cafe.Casey's, while being small is a nice quaint place to get a quick and tasty Hot dog and fries.Add to that the charm of sitting on the belachers and watching old time cartoons makes for a must do for me.The Grand Floridian Cafe is a place alot of people are missing. it's a short monorail/boat ride from MK. It makes for a great change of pace from the crowds and noise
at MK. It's a nice stop for a light lunch .That's just my 2 cents. lets hear yours!?

I wouldn't exactly call these hidden gems (i.e. not hidden), but we love going to Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck's at DD. Because of the diverse offerings, reasonable prices, and good food, everyone is always happy!

I would say the Plaza Restaurant. It doesn't get a lot of buzz around here, but it is very quaint and cute. I find the menu a little limited, but it is the type of food you would eat at a sandwich shop and I found the food to be good.

I agree 100%. DH and I had our honeymoon in 2004 and our first full day there we went to DD in the evening. We were unsure of where to go, I hadn't done as much research as I have since, so we just picked Wolfgang Puck Express, and loved it. It was completly empty too.
We tried going back there this past Feb, but there was a line out the door. We went to Earl of Sandwich instead, and we love it too.

Another vote for Wofgang Puck Express! I love their chicken tender platter with the garlic mashed potatoes. mmmmmgood. They have a nice selection of non theme park fare as well. The Thai Noodle Salad is really good too.

Also, Sunshine Seasons food court in The Land pavillion at Epcot. They have some delicious salads and desserts.

Not really "hidden" but the Kona Cafe really works for us.

Again, not sure any place is really "hidden", but for us it's upstairs at the Columbia Harbour House.

The food is pretty good there, and its a quiet area with great views. That's almost always our lunch place of choice at the MK.

I always used to consider Kona one of my "hidden gems", but I think DIS has blown the lid off that one. We've been going there way back when it was the Coral Isle Cafe. The food is always good there.

I'll add an enthusiastic vote for the Grand Floridian Cafe. We tried it on a whim during our last trip a few weeks ago and will definitely be going back. We had great service, loved the food (and on the DDP you get to try two mini desserts!) and found the atmosphere very quiet and relaxing after a busy day in the parks.

Here is another vote for Earl of Sandwich. Also, DW and I love Flame Tree BBQ. Great food and i love eating next to the water in the Animal Kingdom.

i also say Earl is a great place. We missed it on the first day of our vacation because of the huge line but made it there the last day. it was great value and was some of the best sandwiches we have ever had. But the iced tea was a little funky. Also, although not "hidden", the Mara at AKL was great. It provided us with quick breakfast and a place to go when looking for dc stars! haha!

Yacht Club Galley. I love their breakfast. Then, a few weeks ago DS and DDIL ate lunch there, and said it was the best sit-down meal all week.
I also love the little upstairs area at Pinocchio's Village Haus.

I agree. We always have a great meal at the Yacht Club Galley and it's very reasonably priced.

Olivia's at OKW is rarely crowded but has a great chef and handles groups well.

And here's my favorite thing about Wolfgang Express- the Butternut Squash soup is served at all three WP restaurants, but priced differently because of the "garnish" on top (by all three, I mean the upstairs, pricely one over the cafe). So we go to the Express so I can get my soup w/o the expensive garnish!

I may be in the minority here but my family and I really love the Garden Grill for lunch. The food quality is very good, there's plenty of it, and the atmosphere is nice. Also, the character interaction is among the best we've been to. I admit...when I first heard about it from my parents, I didn't think it'd be that great, but we've loved it from the first visit and go back every trip!

As others have said -
we love the Plaza restaurant - it was one of the least expensive places we ate, but we had one of our best meals there on our January trip. The sandwiches were fresh and excellent. Everything there was simple. We had excellent service as well. I'd recommend it to anyone!

We also really enjoy Kona Cafe. Everytime we're there the restaurant is maybe 3/4 full and everyone's waiting in long lines for Ohana instead. The meals we've had there for both breakfast and dinner have been SO good and fresh! Nothing beats there Terriyaki steak for me!

Another vote for Earl's - love it!

Olivia's is a sentimental favorite since we own at OKW and eat there a lot.

Lotus Blossom Cafe at EC in China is excellent. Great food at a good price and lots of it!

Starring Rolls at MGM. Not an eatery per se, but a good place for a quick nosh and a spot in the sun to get away from the crowds.

Mara at AKL. A food court with a varied and interesting menu. Very large, but not usually crowded and a bit off the beaten track.

Earl of Sandwich was very good last year. We are going back this year for sure..
