What are your first 5 stops onboard?

Staterooms are typically ready at 1:30pm. Until they are ready, there will be ropes in the hallway to keep everyone out.

Where do you go for the meet and greet tickets? I don't want to miss this for my daughter. We will be sailing the Wonder. Thank you :)

It depends on the cruise - it will be listed in the navigator that you get when you check in :goodvibes

Just one stop ... Concierge Lounge ... you get your snacks, free champagne, and the Concierge staff takes care of your tickets, meet & greets, Palo/Remy reservations, etc.

Unless the lounge is full because everybody is sitting in it waiting for their room. We've been turned away at the door of the lounge because everybody was just lingering and waiting for their room instead of vacating so others could come in and set everything up with the hosts.

We've dropped our bags off in our Concierge room before the room was completed before to give others the opportunity to get into the lounge after we were done. We just shoved the bags up under the bed and left to get a drink in the Cove.

I didn't know you could /should get tasting tickets on the first day, I'm glad I found this out now.

This is usually how my first 5 stops play out
1. Lunch
2. Cabin to unpack if ready, otherwise I walk around the ship and sight see.
3. DVC Member gathering,
4. Spa Raffle
5. Meet n greet if there is one for FEs then Muster Drill

1. Lunch at buffet
2. Hit the pools
3. Drop of bags in room
4. Go to sports bar...that the only one usually open before drill
5. Drill

We don't have little kids so no one to check in.

So,we find a table in deck to store our carry one and a couple chairs in the Cove section for adults only.
Put on swim suits.
Either go to cabanas for lunch or pick up something at the grill. Bring it back to Eat outside on the deck at the table we already have.
Get wifi.
Send the kids who want to go to ticketed character events to get their own tickets. Lay in sun and read until rooms are ready. Go to room to tske carry one and then go beck to the Cove.

Read navigator and highlight what we each want to do in different colors before boarding the ship.

1. Go to the spa for rainforest pass, pick up tickets for character greetings
2. Lunch
3. Explore the kids clubs for open house
4. Find stateroom
5. Explore the ship until the required safety drill.

Once this is done, have a great time!!!

Very interesting thread!

On our first cruise I was so worried about missing something that I had detailed lists for each day. I later realized that I made myself crazy, and didn't have the fully relaxing experience that I had hoped for. On our second cruise, I abandoned all lists. Once onboard, we went to lunch at Cabanas, then headed to our room to relax until the muster drill. After that, we just lived in the moment. What a different cruising experience!

Probably repeating what everyone else has already stated:

1.) Hit AquaDuck (if open) while waiting for staterooms;
2.) Grab table at Cabanas before it fills up;
3.) Get Rainforest passes at Senses;
4.) Wave at all of the people at Fish Lips and scream "SEE YA, SUCKERS!"; and
5.) Give Bart Simpson-esque fake name to CM announcing families, just to see if they'll actually say it.

In no particular order, depending on when we actually board:

1. Lunch at Carioca's or Parrot Cay
2. Guest Services to make wine tasting reservations
  • On our Wonder cruise 2 weeks ago, tasting reservations, Palo reservations, dining changes, and about everything but excursions was being conducted in Triton's - one stop shopping! We also changed our dining rotation (for the first time ever) since it had us in AP, our least favorite MDR, for 3 nights.
3. Stateroom to drop off carry-on/day bags
4. DVC Member Celebration (DW goes to the Spa for drawing)
5. After the Muster, enjoy an adult beverage on our veranda

1) pool chair to park my stuff, get undressed, pack lanyard into bag
2) aquaduck a few times
3) pool bar for a drink
4) back to pool chair
5) cabanas for lunch

The whole guest services line is not worth it for us at this time.

what is the DVC member celebration ? any perks here ?

Disney Vacation Club. They hold a reception for current members and go over recent changes, upcoming changes, give a soft sale to urge you to buy more points, and have a couple of games to give away DVC merchandise. They also provide some freebie gifts like DVC hats, lanyards, buttons, etc, and, even better, free drinks - usually the alcoholic and non-alcholic drink of the day. DW usually leaves about half-way through to go to the spa for the drawing, but I stick around and have another drink.

If you're not a DVC member, they will have several presentations throughout the cruise to explain the program and urge you to sign up for an appointment to learn more about DVC and hopefully purchase a membership. Its something to consider if you like Disney vacations (parks, cruises, resorts, etc), but if you're not interested it's easy to say no thanks. DVC members can also attend the presentations if they missed the reception, or are just looking for a free drink and maybe a chance to get some more free stuff.
