We've been on 1 cruise so far.....We got a table near the pool, grabbed lunch and my hubby and kids started swimming/aquaduck while I went to check on Palo reservations, meet and greets (Anna and Elsa), then I went up to swim, too!!!

(son, not me) Three cruises in a row now so it's kind of become a tradition I guess. See my profile pic. Only time he has gotten the pool all to himself, however briefly, and he loves it.

A rainforest pass is a pass that can be purchased for access to the rainforest room of the spa. With this pass, you have unlimited access to the rainforest room amenities such as scented showers, saunas, heated tile loungers, and hot tubs.

**note, the rainforest room is only located on the Dream and Fantasy**

The Wonder and the Magic also have a rainforest room, but it's smaller than on the bigger ships. There are no hot tubs, but there are heated tile loungers, showers, steam rooms and saunas.

My list is:
1. Go to the dining changes area to ensure that we received any of our dining requests
2. Sign up for adult beverage seminars
3. Lunch - sit down if possible, buffet otherwise
4. Spa raffle and sign up for week long rainforest room pass
5. Relax in room until the muster drill

For the newbies, when we first cruised I felt like I had to onboard as early as possible and be ready to get my son in the pool, be in line for tickets, and checking into everything. Don't feel like you have to do that to have a great cruise.

That's great for some people but I've discovered I'm a relaxer. I like to mosey on board around 12:30 when there's no line, get lunch at Carioca's/Parrot Cay with some wine, head over to my room and drop stuff off, hit the muster drill, and head up to the sail away. No rushing, no lines.

My son doesn't care about Disney Jr or princesses so I'm not looking for tickets. And while I like tastings, I typically check on availability when there's no line because I don't really care if I get them. I'm super lazy on vacation and it's awesome.

Another newbie following for ideas. Only 6 weeks until we sail!!!

1. Carioca's for lunch (for some reason, we always do Carioca's for lunch the day we board, then we switch over to Cabana's for the rest of the cruise.)
2. Maybe hang out in Preludes or walk around Deck 4 until our room is open.
3. Get kids registered for the kid's clubs.
4. Drop some stuff off in our cabin.
5. Go to the meet and greet and meet fellow cruisers (for sure on longer cruises, probably not for short ones).

We were so rushed and I felt stressed when we embarked on the last cruise trying to get it all done. This time, I will try to do online booking for spa and palo and not stand in line onboard for character meets that first afternoon to free up some time on embarkation day. I want a much more relaxed first day. Plan of attack for next cruise:
1. I go get tickets for breakfast and characters while DH and kids swim
2.take turns with DH riding aqua duck with our oldest
3/4. Put bags in room and eat lunch, order will depend on the time (don't want to miss the buffet/room may not be ready yet)
5. Check out kids club open house before muster

I have not been to the teen/tween rooms, and only briefly went into Kid's Club to pick up my nephews.... is it worth it to check out the teen/tween/kids club on the first day to see what is there?

Hmm for me....

1. Grabbing a seat in the main dining room for lunch
2. Last minute dining changes?
3. Dart off on my own to drop off luggage once the cabins are ready
4. check the navigator for ship tours
5. head to cabin after feeding to unpack and relax

Heard the pools are super quiet on embarkation day and so is the spas. Some may try to booking specialty dining and excursions.

Before I get on the ship - READ Navigator
1a. Family goes to lunch - varies on location depending on the ship
1b. I go to guest services and get complimentary tickets for tours
2. Go to specified location and get tickets for tastings
3. Go to dining to request server/change time/date if needed
4. Join family for lunch
5. 1:30 - Head to cabin and begin to unpack.

excuse me while i hijack this thread... we somehow never ate at the buffet place (beach blanket?) on the wonder on our first cruise. what type of food is typically available at cabanas? is it open all day long?

1. I go to wherever I need to to get the complimentary tickets for Meet and Greets etc., while family goes to Cabanas for lunch
2. I go to Cabanas for lunch with the rest of the family
3. If the rooms are ready, drop off carry-ons, and try and meet room host
4. Wander the ship just being excited that I'm 'home' (one day we might get organised enough to actually swim that first afternoon!)
5. Unpack before muster drill and sail away party
