We just got back and we ate at Kona...I hate to say it was terrible.
We waited 50 minutes past our ADR and the meal only took 45 min, it was so rushed.
The food was cold and was obviously sittin under heat lamps.
It was our anniversary and it was the only restaurant all week that didn't acknowledge it.
If I ever go back, it will be for lunch..MAYBE.
Ok, the bread was good, but the server pulled it right off the table as we were eating it to rush us off. The bill came after we were on our second bite of dessert.
There was a manager hovering next to our table with an electronic clipboard micromanaging every second.
The steak was tough, the salad was dry, the scallops were cold.
We also had less than stellar service at Kona dinner. I wouldn't say terrible, but definitely the worst of the week out of the 5 table service places we tried. We waited 30 min. past our ADR time to be seated, while we could clearly see that the place was half-empty. It was another 20 minutes from time our drinks arrived before our appetizer did, and 30 minutes from the time the server took our card until he came back with the receipt (which always makes me a little nervous! Thankfully we were charging that meal to the room so there was only our KTTW card in there).
And I didn't even know that Kona gave you bread until we were eating our desserts and noticed other tables had gotten bread...I asked our server if it was something you had to order and I just missed seeing it on the menu? He said "Oh, no, it's free but we ran out of bread, so we've been serving O'hana's bread instead. I can get you some if you want." Well, first I don't really care whose bread it is, but either way you skipped us and didn't realize it for 45 minutes? And second, no, I don't really want it now that I'm almost done with
dessert, but it would have been nice to have during that long stretch before our appetizer appeared!
Dishes that we enjoyed:
--THE STICKY WINGS...OMG so good. Best thing we ate on property besides Le Cellier's filet. If I ever go back I will just get one of these as my entree, LOL!

--The Lapu Lapu and the Island Sunset drinks...yum.
Dishes that we would skip in the future:
--the almond/coconut chicken...it was very bland
--shrimp and scallops...again, bland.
--kona kone...probably great for kids; my DH got it because they were baking the cones fresh when we got there, which smelled fantastic, but it wasn't anything better than the ice cream on main street in the MK
--chocolate fondue...the fruit was fresh and tasty, but the chocolate tasted like thinned-out Hershey's syrup in a bowl. And it was cold! What sort of fondue is cold?
