I had a root canal last week. Hadn't had one in a while and I was understandably a bit anxious. After the doc explained the procedure, he offered me laughing gas but I was afraid I might be psycho with that stuff, so I told him "Nope, I'll just go to Disney World..." and I did. When he gave me that first ouchy shot of Novocaine, I was at the Polynesian, by the pool, with a pina colada. Later I went over the meals I have recently had at Kona Cafe. Also imagined the beach at night, and the beautiful path to the Grand Floridian, surrounded by flowers. I got through the procedure just fine. I guess imagining the Poly beats nitrous oxide!

What are your favorite "daydream" spots at WDW?

OKW - The verandah - no matter where we've been there, we've always had a most peaceful view. And of course, I am sipping the beverage of my choice!!!

Also -the beach at GF after being at the spa for a massage.

Sitting in the concergie lounge at AKL, listening to the african music

Being in that area of Epcot just on the World Showcase side of the fountain and listening & watching the fountain timed to the music.

Sitting in the outdoor seating area of Yakatori House in Japan.

Along the plank and rope walkway that follows the river in MK by Frontierland - watching the Lilly Belle steam out.

Strolling along the Boardwalk on a warm tropical night, taking in the lights, the people and watching the Friendship launches cruising the waterways.

Walking thru One Man's Dream in Disney studios - getting lost in the magic of that one man's mind.

Finding a quiet spot in the outside seating for the Flame tree BBQ in AK and slipping on a soda.

Standing on a balcony of the Contemporary overlooking the Magic Kingdom and the Seven Seas Lagoon.

LOL, and I can think of a MILLION more! ::MickeyMo :sunny:

Colleen,

Good question!!! I think about GF & having tea or being in the lobby of WL!!

Talk to you soon

Sitting in a rocking chair on Tom Sawyer Island, looking across the water and people watching.

Strolling along the Boardwalk at night, enjoying the lights on the water and the sound of the Friendship boats coming and going.

Sitting and being wowed once again during Fantasmic.

Anywhere in MGM, especially at night. Something about that place makes me smile whenever I picture it. :)

Less than 2 weeks until I can make all these daydreams into a reality.

DVCconvert, sorry to hear that you are SLIPPING on a soda, here in Michigan we are sipping on pop :rotfl2:

I like to sit on my balcony overlooking the boardwalk, and watch those joggers sweating as they jog by in the early hours of the day :wizard: It's just so peaceful then, everything looks so brand new in the early morning sun :sunny:

Whenever I have a dental procedure I also "remove" myself from the dentist's chair. I have probably visited WDW, but I am definately NOT at the dentist!

One time he kept telling me to open wider but I didn't hear him! I think I scared him. He is forever asking me if I am all right.

I am going in a few weeks. I think I will drink some hot cocoa by the fireplace at the Iron Spike room at VWL. Thanks for the idea!

Ahh, what a great question...

My favorites would be walking down Main Street, taking in the aroma from the Bakery and the sounds all around me. I often try to look for someone who is experiencing Main Street for the very first time just to see the look of awe!!!

Wandering around the World Showcase at night...love the sounds and lights.

Walking around the Boardwalk at night. It is so lively and beautiful. Such a great place to go home to after a day at the parks.

The walk from MGM to the Boardwalk at night. It is beautiful walking along the water watching the boats go back and forth.

I just can't wait to get back!!!

Drinking designer coffee from my Mickey mug and eating something naughty from the BW Bakery on my balcony in the morning, with the sun shining on Spaceship Earth and Crescent Lake, watching the boats coming to take happy families to Epcot and MGM.

Walking down Main St. in the early morning looking at the castle.

Eating in the castle...anytime!!

Eating at San Angel Inn by candlelight and watching the boats go by.

Walking ANYWHERE in World Showcase after dark.

Sitting on the beach at night at BC.

Listening to the "Pirate Band" sing "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate's life for me....la la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la." (seriously...they don't sing the words...it's PRICELESS)

Oh what a fun thread and just in time! I am scheduled to go to the dentist on Monday to have one of my teeth crowned. Now I know what I can do to get me through that awful experience!

I'll pretend I'm in a lounge chair at Stormalong Bay on a warm, sunny day sipping a Pina Colada reading an interesting book. Occasionally, I'll take a refreshing dip in the warm waters and enjoy feeling the sand between my toes while I'll enjoy watching all the kids and the young at heart splashing in the pool.

Or I'll pretend I'm watching my favorite fireworks show, Wishes!

Maybe I'll go for one of my favorite jogs around Crescent Lake and along the canal to MGM.

Or I'll walk over to the Boardwalk Bakery and enjoy a cheese danish outside on the Boardwalk while I admire the view of the Yacht and Beach Club and listen to the Friendship boats toot their horn.

Before I know it, I'll be all done at the dentist's office. Thanks colleen for a super idea!

What a great idea for a thread! Some of my favorite daydreams:

Sitting on the balcony at the Boardwalk looking out at the lake and over at Epcot!

Riding around World Showcase on our Segways.

Walking around Magic Kingdom the night of Member Homecoming. The park was so empty it felt like we had it to ourselves and it was Magical!

Watching Wishes or Illuminations - love them!

One more not from WDW - sitting on my verandah on either the Magic or Wonder and watching nothing but water and sky - heaven!

On the beach at the Beach Club, drinking rum and gazing across the water at the Boardwalk.

What a great thread!

Drinking a Lapu Lapu at the Tambu Lounge in the Polynesian.

Getting the best facial at the Grand Floridian Spa.

Strolling along the Boardwalk at night.

Having a Dole WHip in Adventureland on a very hot day.

This is bad, I shouldn't be day dreaming at work. :flower:

Strolling slowly out of Epcot or the MK after closing when the park is almost empty. They are so magical after dark. I love the lights and music, and I always notice things that I never see when it's crowded.

I guess I'd be sitting on the WL beach, adult beverage in hand. The sun is going down and there's a nice breeze off of Bay Lake. Eventually, it gets dark and the Electrical Water Pageant comes and performs right in front of us as if it were just for my family. :)

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Definitely the 1 hour ride to and from work.........that's two hours per day of day dreaming....................especially now that our next trip is booked.....I'm dreaming up new ways to entertain the 'guests' that are coming with us.....

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Oh, this will be a tough question! There are so many!!
I love to think about riding Kilamanjaro Safari and just ambling along the trails to see all the animals on both the African and Asian side. I could spend DAYS doing just that. Finding a bench on one of the little trails around Tree of Life and just watching the world.

At Epcot, it would be sitting and watching the fountain the rose garden. I also love to explore the little side streets at World showcase.

At OKW, it is sitting on the balcony enjoying breakfast or a cup of coffee in the early dawn. We always have a great view, and it so feels like "home", but without the snow and cold. I also could just picture the bridge and beautiful bouganvilla bushes by the light house. I LOVE that scene!

I daydream about the rides that we all go on together. Like it was yesterday, I still feel my little girl's hand pull my arm tightly around her waist and hear her paniced little voice say "hold on to me Daddy!!", as we clickity-clack up through the mine on BTMRR.
